I still have a feeling he’s gonna get packaged in a deal for a big time acquisition

If we clear enough cap space, including kakko, we should absolutely pursue Sprong as a 3rd line replacement.

Everyone is on the table outside of Gabe. Nothing would shock me right now

Yeah the theory is SJ took Goodrow to get around his NTC. It’s why I wouldn’t be surprised to see a Holl for Trouba deal.
- Feds91Stammer

I don't think there's any bigger conspiracy going on with Goodrow. I think Grier knew that he needed someone like Goodrow on that team if they were going to be bringing in all these young skilled kids. Someone to kill penalties and teach the kids to be pros.

He recognized that players like Goodrow weren't dying to go to a team like SJ so when Goodrow went on waivers and they could grab him it actually seems like a no brainer for Grier

Not saying I think there is one either. Just a way people are trying to justify what is likely just another one of Yzermans many bad moves.

He seems like he forgot how to GM since he left Tampa. He was the cats meow back then as far as GMs go

It’s kind of why the rangers signed him to begin with tbh. Show the kids the ropes. He should embrace that sorta thing and he will. He doesn’t seem like a selfish player at all. It sucks leaving a contender so I can see why he’d be pissed. But he’ll be fine being in the sun all year and making almost 4 million bucks without the pressure of winning

Meh he was pretty lucky in TB. Keep in mind he’s never won a cup as GM.

They drafted well. I’m sure his scouts had a lot to do with that tho. You might be right

You are saying fox isn’t a playoff guy? Wow don’t agree at all
- TPC

No. I’ve said numerous times u can have a guy like Fox, but you can’t have multiple guys like Fox. I’d keep Fox, and trade Panarin or Zib. Obviously can’t bc of the NTC’s, but that’s my opinion.

And his scouts didn’t join him in Detroit. So far he’s created a deep yet unspectacular prospects pool.

Congratulations Artemi Panarin. What a magnificent season.
He did it all, all year long. Rangers won the President's Trophy on his shoulders.

- VinnyP

real cheap shot! Without panarin we don’t even MAKE the playoffs!

Honestly if the rangers signed him to a 3 x $3.6M deal which is essentially what it ended up being I don't think he would've caught nearly the heat he did. It's still a high AAV but the term was the biggest issue with that deal

I always understood the signing. It didn’t burn them in the end. He even gave us his best at the last minute lol

They do need a reliable PK forward now. I’d say it would be Kakko to take that role but seems as though he’ll be moved

Ah there's our RWing right there. Imagine if he joined the team next playoffs like Kreider did and came in and scored a bunch of goals in the playoffs helping us win it all? LEGGGGGGGGGGGGO

Kinda bummed about Kakko likely being gone. I really think we’re guna regret it, but understand why some have lost the faith. Only way I’d be happy about it is if we got McGroarty back in the deal somehow. Young RW with good upside

I get it. I just don’t see it with him. Until he skates better at least. Idk how that happens because you’d think it would’ve happen already. He is not a bust necessarily, but he’s definitely a jag. That is the best term for him imo…just another guy

If Kakko goes on to do what JT Miller did when he was in VAN, sure it'd suck but that might still be a ways away. Don't know.

Nah he isn’t JT Miller. Kakko is sloooooooow. He can’t ever get free from a checker. He stick handles well… yay lol
