Zadarov is liable to be the head scratcher of UFA. Like 7 yrs 7 AAV or something. He’s good but he’s going to get over paaaaaid I think

If he could be had for under $6m I’d trade lindgrens rights and do it. Trouba would have to be gone too and replaced with a very cheap player

My feeling on Lindgren is if they reduced his ice time to the second pair it would do him a world of good. I know that means him and Fox separate but maybe that’s for the best since they are both smallish

Miller Fox -
Lots of offensive upside, maybe Fox makes miller better

Lindgren Schneider - your D shutdown pair

Jones Desharnais -
Arnold Schwartzeneger/Danny Devito pair lol

Kinda bummed about Kakko likely being gone. I really think we’re guna regret it, but understand why some have lost the faith. Only way I’d be happy about it is if we got McGroarty back in the deal somehow. Young RW with good upside

Several sites keep listing him as a RW. When I saw him this year, he was a LW!
If you look at his Michigan highlight video, most of the footage shows him as a LW. It also shows him to be an average skater at best, needs to refine his edgework.
I'm not saying he sucks or anything like that, but I question how he's going to help us much next year...

If were gonna go with Jones at LD, then I think we need someone better than Desharnais. I think thats where you gotta get Gudas. Someone who is as an absolute menace but also is a good defenseman.

I’d be ok with someone cheap for the 3rd pair like Deshairnais seeing how he does then at the TDL get some depth there. Gudas seems a bit expensive for that spot. I do like him tho for what we need

I keep seeing Josh Manson being available too

Drafted 2 years ago so he’s going to be NHL ready in a year or 2. Had a great season last year in college. I’d rather have that, than let’s say package 30 and Kakko to draft at 14, bc whoever we get there is 2-3 years away from making the team.

The way I look at it is as a “combined” cost. Jones making ELC money and Gudas at 4m, the net cost of the 2 defensemen is 5m. If they were both FAs/Vets on the cheap youre looking at about 3m combined, so its a bit of a luxury, but with the salary cap going up, over time it could work out. Also in Gudas, you have a guy that can play in any situation and on any pair in the event of an injury or someone needs a day off.

Someone on the cheap I like is Colin Miller, his metrics/numbers look pretty good.

He’s got a good shot from the point which wouldn’t be the worst idea to get either. We don’t really have a big shot back there

Some rumours swirling around Brett Pesce potentially signing with NJ in free agency... two-way top-four righty who defends the rush well, kills penalties, and shuts down passing lanes. #NJDevils

Pesce will be too expensive for us. He’s a very good defenseman

To pull Vatrano, we would probably have to add something decent.
