They pass on Buium, a potential 1D, and only get a 3rd rd pick out of it. Then they pass on Helenius for Luchenko? Completely asinine. He’s also a small center. So he’s gonna be a 3rd line center or 2nd line winger. WTF!

Exactly, York wasn’t a reach when they selected him. Plus he was a D over a W. I didn’t like passing on Caufield at all but it’s no where near this colossal disaster. Danny just defined his career on this pick. If Buium gets anywhere close to his potential this will be historically bad.

The Flyers could have had either player and passed on both .. what does that tell you? Flahr has a track record of making good picks and judging prospects well.

They're betting on him being so young, there is still significant growth. I hope it works out, but I am concerned.
