No, next year.
- VanHockeyGuy

I believe it was Vantel who mentioned, upon the hiring of Rutherford, to not expect many high draft picks under Rutherford, as he has a long history of dumping picks.

I think in order to “replace” the role/production of not resigning Lindy and Big Z or missing out on Jake G - it’ll have to be by committee - which isn’t a bad idea and gives more cap flexibility - making it all fit under the 14 mil is gonna be tough but doable.

Forwards - Terravainen, Mantha (my choice) olefson (needs a chance of scenery) Sprong, Monahan, Martinook, Stevenson (2nd choice), McLeod

Defense - Pesce and Roy are probably gonna be too $$ but Hakanpaa (my choice) , Forbort, Gustavson, Edmundson, Walker, Grizlyk would fit the mold/budget.

Too bad Jett Woo turned out to be a bust.

Absolutely not - those are short term ideas. MGMT should do their diligence/homework and locate 4-6 options/players in UFA that could fit with Miller/Boeser/Petey/Hogs in a top 6 role
- Brooks_Light

So we're looking at the dregs then, most of the forwards who are going on the market aren't top 6 or don't have the pedigree or the skills to play there unless you want Toffoli who probably won't sign here considering the mess he left when Benning 'forgot' to resign him. The window is now, take a shot with Stamkos and see if you can't win a Cup in the next 4-5 years.

Yes it was. I get trading picks but you can only do that for so long.

They're in their window now so it will probably continue.

Disappointing prospect. His one year deal tells it all.

I know the start of the season isn’t until October, but wow, this management group is having a very good start to the off-season!! Best management group since the Mike Gillis era.

Not really concerned, somewhat concerned though, with the picks flying out the door as the team is in a “win now” mode. This should be another very competitive year next year, which is so welcomed after dealing with such an incompetent management under Jim Benning.

Hopefully July 1st is good to the organization.

@darrendreger

“Day two of the Draft . Keeping an eye on the Utah Hockey Club as it’s believed they have a significant trade in the hopper.”

Coyotes are going to be the next Nordiques when the moved to Denver. Bill Armstrong building an awesome team and then they add Tig Iginla…wow!!!

I like Toffoli. I'd try and get him and 2 solid dmen and just wait from there. Value will open up. Perfect examples are Suter and Bleuger from last year. Kids on the farm hopefully push a bit but I can see why Allvin wants JG if he believes some farm kids can play. The tax mess in Canada is an unfortunate hurdle but it is what it is. Good luck Allvin

Not sure Toffoli would come back, not to mention he had not a great year last year, but maybe it would be better to sign a placeholder for July 1 and explore a trade at TDL or closer to the start of the season when teams are looking to get under the cap

TB making moves.

Just flipped Jeannot to LAK for a 2nd and 4th.

That’s a poor return on investment.

His prime years are behind him and he is slow.

He’s got some good years left, but yeah. Slow.
Plus he’ll be looking for term.
