Big Z will be this year’s Klingberg. He’ll price himself out of the market and then be forced to sign a one year contract once he’s left at the dance without a partner.
- Shuswap Wap

Nah, I think he has a number and some team will reach it. I'm guessing 6 mil x 4/5 years and a team (Toronto) will jump.

Canucks made the right moves but they got out done by a tax free state. This is getting ridiculous now and the NHL cap is not fair especially to Canadian based teams.

Now convinced there is no possibility unless NHL changes some rules like allowing more spending under a luxury tax for a contract or two for Canadian based teams. Maybe one for USA states with high taxes.

Yup. There's really nobody on the market with his size and skillset. He'll definitely cash in on an overpayment.

Domi just 15 mil for 9 goals. Gonna be interesting tomorrow.

IDK Shus, there's close to 20 teams out there with 15$ + to spend and really - there's NOT ONE Dman other than Dillion available that compares to Big Z overall game.

I hope he tests the market and realizes he could get a similar deal in Van and circles back. But based on the Milestein quote - I'm assuming something happened that will prevent that - plebs like us will never know the truth.

It's a damn shame to see him go, he was the one guy I wanted back more than any of the others. We can go out and try to fill the aspects of what he brings, but I don't think he's replaceable, very unique dude.

Who are you hoping for?

I'm flip flopping since yesterday. Now that Domi signed, at least we got a better idea of pricing.

I wonder if that means folks like Skinner, Duclair, Bertuzzi, Mantha, Olefson, Sprong, Arvidson, DeBrusk will all be sub 4mil?

I'm actually leaning toward Stephenson but i'm gussing he's 5mil+

I suppose if they prioritize him they could squeeze the other pieces in. He'd be a great addition - we'd be Miller, Petey, Stephenson, Suter, Bluegar, Aman, Bains, Sasson, Karlson down the centerline for years

Kylington an interesting name for the reclamation side.
- NewYorkNuck

OEL?
Would be hilarious.
I’d be down to sign him as a 3rd pair LD.

Canucks paying OEL twice? lol

Elliotte Friedman
@FriedgeHNIC
In addition to Adam Boqvist buyout, Columbus not expected to qualify Alex Nylander

Boqvist also a reclamation project?

Funny both those players are former 8OA picks

Honestly, I think they should stand pat and wait. See if something comes up via the trade route when teams need to clear cap.

This fanbase' obsession with former players needs to end. A hard no to bringing Tanev back.

I wonder what Hamhuis is doing...

- LordHumungous

I seen him at the cougars game, he looks like he can still play 😆

Said that when the Canucks traded for him. Short shelf life. Fans love the player, just not sure how the players feel.

It seems like the players like him…if not, Miller wouldn’t make a push to bring him back. That being said, I think you are right. It’s a red flag that he can’t stay in one place

I’d be happy with Dillon frank Z, he played top 4 with Winnipeg and had a good role in there goals against.

As time goes on he becomes bigger than the team with his out spoken nature is my take on him.

He reminds me of Krutov, all hype, but not much upstairs and otherwise unreliable.

Meh, there's zero chance he winds up in Edmonton so I'm cool with it. Actually it's been good here since the Oilers lost the cup and the Oilers thread was obliterated from the front page. Very enjoyable.

On Stamkos he had 40g but -21 & Kucherov to feed him on the PP not that he’s moving but not the fit some might think.

On Z it’s looking slim he’s back so I rather we spread around the cap on good value signings on a top 4D & top 6 winger.

Skinner is worth a shot if a cheap 1yr show me after his BO or Debrusk. Kane maybe if cheap. I’d look hard at getting Roy.

Thought on Stephenson a lot at the right price. On Dillon sorta but takes some careless penalties. Tough but comes down to price. Top 4D still sticks out a winger for Petey. Need to buy 2-3yrs max for prospects to step in. Asset/cap mgmt has to be done well. Lindholm already cost us but can overcome that if add the right pieces for value.
