He's my plan C at wing. I need them to run through Vatrano, Farabee, Konecny and Ehlers first.
So I don't know Plan H or something. The reason he's being shopped is his one dimension play. - TheSabresTaco
Frank vatrano would be my #1 target or close anyways
Bad team, played well. Might still have some upside |

Adams as done exactly what he had said he wanted to do except find a top 6 forward. He has assembled the fastest bottom 6 in the league. Revamped the 4th line completely. He still needs a top 6 forward but this team is going to fly. They would need EVERYTHING to go right for them to make the playoffs as the roster stands currently. But as far as drawing up a worse off-season should we just go back to last year? - Stripes77
As the roster stands now, you're saying that if we don't get another second line winger that everything needs to go right for us to make the playoffs? That just seems like such a wild swing. I think right now we have one of the better rosters in the conference.

Also I just thought of this. What if and I’m not saying I like it but what if they want to move Cozens back to wing where he flourished during the world championships?
JJ Tage Tuch
Cozens McLeod Quinn
Zucker Krebs Benson
Malenstyn Lafferty Greenway
Or they give Krebs the 2C opportunity? I still don’t like it at all. But Cozens did thrive on the wing. |

This a much better defensive group of forwards. Unquestionably a big part of their plan. - Lunaion
All this speed we acquired work both offensively and defensively .

I think if they don’t add a top 6 forward everything would have to go right for us to make the playoffs. Which included Cozens Tage and Tuch regaining their 2 year ago scoring touch. Quinn to stay healthy the entire year. Samuelsson to stay healthy the entire year. UPL to play the whole year like he did for 2 and a half months. Power to figure out how to play in front of his own net and get some scoring touch.
It’s not a playoff roster in my opinion. Not yet anyway. Get me an Ehlers and I will say otherwise then. |

It's more his style for sure. Was hard to imagine him without a checking line.
Is it better than a year ago, with no top half additions? Not sure.

Just look at last year's opening night roster. 5 or 6 spots where you can say woof. That is a third of the roster. Hell, if just the PP went right last year, we would have been right there, and that is before getting rid of all of the anchors. I think people here tend to be overly-smitten with teams that make a lot of moves. |

If you place McLeod there. That hurts the Sabres overall roster

Gotta think the Sabres overpay for a top 6 yet, before puck drops in October.
I think you’re right on Savoie, something off ice must have diminished his value
I’d don’t love the trade, but they needed a 3c with speed. Had to pay the price imo |

When you are undersized and a skilled forward you either make that jump within 3 years of being drafted to being a NHL player or you don’t. This is a make or break year for Savoie.
The Sabres filled a glaring need with a player who has elite speed, good defensively and great killing penalties. In the role he played in Edmonton he didn’t need to be a point producer. Could he put up 45-50 points in Buffalo? Maybe, but Adams got what he saw and we all saw as a massive hole. A third line center. Savoie might feel like an overpayment right now, and it could turn out to be one, but Savoie also hasn’t even played a half season of pro hockey anywhere. - Stripes77
Plus, I just read that McLeod is 6’3 and from missisauga. player Who Wants To Be Here and Whi Isn’t. AMidget Teyhard.

I think Edmonton needs this trade to work out for them more than Buffalo does.
They could still lose Draisaitl, Kane and Herique are older depth players, they haven’t been drafting high and this is a role player for a former top 10 pick.
We just traded Grigorenko for Hecht 2.0 I think. |

I'm right back to not expecting any more moves.
They don't have many chips left. If that's all they could do with Savoie, Rosen isn't worth moving. If Kulich is the unmovable guy, then you're just left with Ostlund. Maybe Johnson, but Joker is on a 1 year and their D pipeline is weak. Trading future picks is the unsustainable approach KA's been preaching against since he's been here. Certainly possibly everything he's said for years vanished in the wind.

Well if the Sabres want Ehlers they better move on it, could lose 2 possibilities in one Trade. |

Maybe because he played some wing with Draisaitl?
The idea of Ehlers now becomes intoxicating. At what point do you go for it even though he isn't extended? Ostlund or Kulich, RJohnson, next year's first? Man, that would be a ridiculous top 6. - Slump Buster
https://www.expectedbuffa...nts-to-a-bet-on-the-data/
>>> One player I would take off of the list is Ehlers. He seems to be what I’ve dubbed “fake available.” The Winnipeg Jets are listening on him, but the price is outrageous. They can tell the story of trying to move him, but the offers weren’t good enough so they’ll keep him. |

The Sabres have a lot of chips left to trade. Like still too many for the number of roster spots.
Removing savoie. We will have
Ostlund
Kulich
Helenius
Rosen
Komarov
Wahlberg
Ryan Johnson (if you want to call him a prospect still)
