there's been one pure player trade since 7/1. chiquorin for Nick Jensen. Everything else has been minor or cap dumps.
Zegras, Ehlers, Konecny/Farabee, Necas, Marner, JPG (great target, only two years left for 3C), Kadri
JPG 35% off and a 2nd for Krebs is a decent deal. |

Roster builder is cool. Tried it out already. They're taking feedback and they are definitely in the same ballpark as CF. |

I think once 1 trade for a top 6 forward gets accepted, the market for this summer will be set.
I agree with your post above. There is definitely a log jam, trades wise. No one has moved.
Like even if the Sabres don’t get Necas. I think he’s moved either way.

23 years old
right shot D man
top 10 pick
decent skater
decent puck mover
we always hear d men take a little time to develop
low risk high reward IMO esp with our need for RD |

They have 11.8M left.
Jarvis - 8.5x8
Drury - 1.6x2
Coghlan - 810kx1
~1M left for Necas. Demote Spencer, Jost, Robinson, another 2.3M. 3.3M left for Necas.
Projections-
6 year 7.5M
7 year 7.5M
8 year 8.8M
1 year arb 6.2M
You're trading Necas (or walking from that arb, dumb) or trading out Kuznetsov/Kotkaniemi

You really think there's a log jam and we'll see a flurry of trades once it breaks?
I'm expecting most of these guys to stay put. When you look at rosters and caps, it seems like those teams are planning on it. Imagine there will be a move or two, but not a ton. |

Who is more NHL ready
Kulich, Savoie or Rosen? I feel like a roster spot will be left open for one of them.
Kulich might not be NHL ready and is concerning. I think Savoie is the most NHL ready but would be great to get a year in the AHL.
Dare I say Rosen? |

Boqvist has the tools and was the 2nd best defensive prospect behind Dahlin.
He probably signs for 1 million dollars. Boqvist being from Sweden means Dahlin could try to mentor him and there is top 4 potential there.
Its a low risk vs high reward situation and I take that all day.
Waive him if he doesn't develop and the cap hit is nothing. |

overused cliche. now that the impact free agents have been signed, the trade market boots up. there is no log jam, they'll just happen if they happen.
there's not a lot of teams giving away top 6 talents. Those are the teams fielding a lot of calls and now there's an iron price to be paid.
kevyn has more ammo than anyone.

don't use this argument
i mean ok, sign him vet min and waive him if he's bad, but the D pool for Rochester is installed already.
he might get a tcamp invite somewhere. |

Kotaniemi is way over priced, they would need to retain a bit...say $2m, unless they give him away for a ~4th. I wouldn't overpay for him as he is just barely, or maybe not even replacement level. |

#NHLJets Ehlers has received a lot of confirmed interest from #NYR, #Isles, #Sabres, #ALLCAPS and #GoKingsGo. Sabres are the only ones with confirmed pieces in place for a deal but anything can change. #NHL |

Rosen has the most complete game at a professional level...his size (weight/muscle) is what is holding him back.
Savoie, to me is the quickest to ascend to NHL ready...is he there yet? 60/40 no..he's still raw, but the one I have the most confidence in.
Kulich has the most natural talent, but his game requires additional development on the responsibility scale.
What do you want, pick one |

let's not be stupid because he's a flopped prospect that went unsigned as a 23 year old and has not been re-signed to a vet min yet

I bet you were trading away Mittelstadt for a bag of pucks when he was 23 too.
Great teams find players to develop and this is an opportunity to do that.
Or we can keep your way of thinking and just be trash again and again and again |

I personally wouldn't use the "raw" tag with Savoie. You're right with Rosen, I'm excited to see what he looks like in September. Same with Savoie. They both have refined games (for prospects) and strength is holding them both back.
Matty can play man.
I keep Matty, Rosen and Kulich are a toss up for me. Could make an argument for both. Maybe Kulich cause I'd rather keep the goal scorer, but I can see the org rather keeping Rosen because of his refining 200' game. |

I bet you I wasn't
So my way of thinking will sink the org because I don't want anything to do with a washed ex top 10 prospect? And the Sabres are bad because he's unsigned? |
