Tanev by a lot. You gotta think about our window, which is Matthews for 4 years and Tanev will still be good for 2-3 of those, with a bit of a drop-off later. Gio was still very good into his late 30s.

Zad is big and mean, but takes a poop ton of penalties; he's a bottom pairing D on a good team.

That's unfortunate

He's always been a 3rd pairing D. It's what he is.

I wanted him for the Leafs 3rd pairing, and him going to a division rival sucks, but that's still a lot to give a 3rd pairing guy.

But maybe they play him higher up the lineup. Leafs are likely to do the same with OEL.

If he is 3rd pairing. I think your point is reasonable, I'd rather pay zadarov the extra money, but truthfully, the Leafs always go mid game hunting when it comes to goalies and dmen. Not signing either was also an option. Is OEL really better the. boosh or Edmundson currently by that much ? I loved him when he was younger, but he isn't that player anymore.

So we have no 3rd line C. Unless that is Max.

He's not.

Taken out of one game, because the coach was a (frank)ing idiot. Leafs just so happened to play like absolute dog poop in that game, and he was back in the lineup the next game. Was recovering from a high ankle sprain.
