Exact same mindset with me. I took him to task last year but it’s a different year.

I think he’s worried about next year and is playing this year as a single outlier season because he can’t get the cap all out of whack. I wanted one year guy, or two, so I got one. Was he the one I would’ve hand picked, no, but I see his thought process

You don’t panic. You be patient and let the dust settle on the roster. Start working the phones for a trade and work towards improving the roster by the deadline.

This team is still very good. They’ll be in a position with a lot of cap space to push the chips in at some point.

Overspending on FAs was not the move. Missing out on some guys stinks, but it is what it is.

Which would have to come at the expense of Kakko if Trouba isn't moved. And then GUESS WHAT? Kakko recoups some of these picks people are terribly upset about since we can't add cap.

My point is not about yesterday's UFA signings, dollars and terms.

It's the way Drury handled moving 2 veteran players, one of which was his Captain.

He went about it all wrong.

I know you guys are hopeful and are looking at it as a business. I get it.

But hockey is a game of skills, tenacity and hard work.

Nobody is going to convince me that the curent Rangers players are ever going to play hard for Drury again.

This guy has no respect for people, and it is already catching up to him.

I think Othmann needs to be in the lineup by opening night or be traded. If he doesn't make the roster by the TDL his value will be at an all time low and we need to win now. Kakko would have to go as well then to make room for a big time RW. That's really the extent of what can we done for the forward group. Mika, Kreider, Panarin, Trocheck, Laf, are all in the top6 and cannot or will not be moved.

I would rather they move on from Lindgren and use his money elsewhere.

You're right. I have been kind of checked out with knowing exactly what the roster would look like.

Not sure what to think right now. I actually think they are just going to run it back with what they have.

So, Vesey, Smith and Quick all UFA after this season. Have to think that all of that money is going to Shesterkin.
