With Trouba saying he wont play anywhere he is traded this year, very much so puts the kibosh on it. As far as enforcing the contract, he will still owe 2 years of service I would assume. He could just say he is taking time away for family matters.

It’s July 2nd. You have a calendar?

I’m going based off trouba not being traded. Not sure their cap situation for tdl. Just very underwhelming summer if this is what they are able to do

I believe both are available still…Alex Nylander and Nick Robertson could be good one year prove it deals we could look into. They’re both talented guys who just can’t seem to stick on a roster.

I think the ship has sailed on Nylander. Robertson Id give a shot to.

He had a really good finish to the year tho, 10 goals in March and April. Maybe he found something

Give him just what Hank got us, cause neither won poop
- irishgerm

So signing Hank long term was a mistake? I said then they overpaid my $1 mil per, which impacted their ability to sigh others. It’s why I want the salary here to be 11 mil or below to save room for others

You shouldn’t get frustrated with me. We have watched this core group not be good enough over the last 5 years. Now they can’t improve the roster this year. It’s basically a throw aaay year. Dallas Florida edm true contenders. Rangers a tier under.
- nyrangers2

You have to throw Nashville in there too, they could be really good.

Devils also improved their roster but I dont think they are contenders.

IF, the Rangers end up keeping Trouba- a big issue will be how involved Lavi was with the perceived blindsides to Goodrow and Trouba. If the team feels he was in on it, then it could spell trouble for team chemistry.

As an aside, I think I rather have Trouba at 2 years /8,5m than Buch at 7 years/ 8m

Goodrow was a respected guy in that locker room and some said players were a bit miffed at how he was treated, Trouba is very respected and liked in that room so Im sure this isnt going over very well at all. Not sure if Lavi played a part in this at all.

I admit I am a fan. But as everyone knows, when I give my opinions and I write, I separate that. I base that on his production to date and also what I project down the road. I also looked at some of the contract models which projected him for that type of deal. I probably would have gone seven mil over five years not 8 over 6 but understand why St Louis did it. We agree to disagree here. I was right when I said what he worth on his last deal.
