So since we can pretty much give up on this season, is there a chance Dubas is going to take a 1 year dump here with a focus on next seasons UFA crop. There is a long time for guys to sign contracts, but the list at this moment is pretty epic.

Kind of overcast here in sunny San Diego so I’m kinda hoping that cuts down on the beach crowd a bit. Few things I enjoy more than hitting the beach on the fourth, cracking cold ones, and laughing at people for blasting Born in the USA unironically having no idea it’s one of the most blatant anti-American songs in existence. May as well be playing American Idiot.

Born in the USA isn't "anti-American" it's just not patriotic like most people seem to think. It's the story of a Vietnam vet who returns home haunted by his experiences in the war and dealing with economic despair, his patriotic view of America hollowed out and him left lost trying to find his way again.

As I said yesterday... This team was a viable PP from being a solid lock to make the playoffs. I think we need a top 6 wing and some good coaching to be a playoff team. I agree about Sullivan. I'd rather have anybody but him coaching this team. He's a net negative. Still... I'm optimistic we can somehow get some chemistry out of this squad. I think Dubas will add another forward, and there's still some fun to be had.

Best case scenario is they let the young kids develop in WBS, sell expiring contracts at the deadline, let those kids come up and play the last 20ish games and sneak their way into a WC spot. Then be as aggressive next year since it’ll likely be Malkins last season.

Go into the TDL next season and trade some salary (ex:Karlsson, Rakell, Eller, Acciari, and potentially Graves) if any or all of them have any value. As I said take it for the higher draft pick and better prospect. Open it up for next offseason to be very aggressive with the cap space and make one last run

Could you guys imagine how different this team would look if Hextall actually pulled off the trade to land Miller and/or Boeser from Vancouver a few trade deadlines ago. I know we would have lost Pettersson in the deal (and definitely wouldn't have traded for Granlund), but I think we would be in a totally different position.
