Kampf and Reaves out.
Comtois, Tierney and Clutterbuck in. - Rare_Jewel
Tierney might be ok, but not sure the others do much to help. Agreed on trading Kampf too. |

Will you look at that. Just look at it. It's beautiful. - Zezel
It's insane. It's not just
Chychrun & DeBrincat for Jensen, Sebrango and Kubalik (it should be noted that Kubalik is an unsigned UFA; Sebrango is in his last year of his contract and has yet to play in the NHL and Nick Jensen is paid $4m and doesn't even play 20 minutes/game).
That in itself would be awful. it's also:
2 1sts, 3 2nds and a 3rd for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd - where each pick traded out is actually of higher placement value than each pick received.

Not necessarily the same type of thing but there is a guy on YouTube named Mr. Ballen that covers true crime stuff in a story format. Usually with a good twist at the end. They're pretty entertaining imo - PlatosRepucklic
Watch him too. Good one. Some EWU one is good too. |

Tierny is a former London Knight (2 time champ), played with Domi and Stolarz. Think that helps the chemistry pretty quick. He's a smart player, can play the 4C role effectively and play the PK too. Wins FOs.
I see Comtois as a project. He plays LW which the Leafs need more of but he's also a big body who isn't afraid to go to the front of the net. He probably doesn't do much in the regular season but in the playoffs, he's a space creator much like Knies.
And Clutterbuck, well, he's just a heart and soul guy who hits everybody. To me, that's what our 4th line should look like, especially for the playoffs. |

Their management was going for on ice success hoping that would make the players forget they'd have to live in Ottawa.
As soon as the team loses, nobody wants to stay. Why would they?

I almost feel bad for Ottawa...but not really.
And if we go back further they have some other really good ones for the asset blooper reel.
And yes before anyone points it out, I acutely realize the Leafs' rap sheet of (frank)-ups is longer than (frank). |

They should relocate them to a different part of Ontario.
Don't think they can survive another rebuild when Brady demands a trade. |

Can't blame Skinner. Oilers almost won the Cup and McDavid can make him a 40-50 goal scorer again just by virtue of Skinner's skating ability.
The only way Skinner was coming to the Leafs over the Oilers is if they gave him a 5 year deal between 4-6 AAV. And that would have been a massive gamble most fans would have hated.

As much as I chirp them I'd like to see them remain in Ottawa, but I agree it could get sketchy.
Then there's the question of paying off the Leafs and Sabres to set up shop in Mississauga or K/W or whever.

You're crazy.
He has earned it. He gave both Tavares and Matthews career years in goals with a bundle of primary assists.
What you're suggesting is that the coach make the team worse in his first year as coach.
Sorry, that's a bad plan for everybody. - Rare_Jewel
Since 2016
Marner
G - 193
Primary Assists- 263

If we're talking strictly for the health of the franchise having a more loyal fanbase, they'd be way better off in Northwest Hamilton in an area where Kitchener, Guelph, Burlington and Brantford population could travel to easily.
In terms of the Leafs and the Sabres, they can both (frank) off. Neither one will suffer that badly. If Buffalo can't hold it's franchise because of one being too nearby in Canada, they don't deserve a team either. The Leafs are just greedy. |

I love Nylander, but players that have the puck all the time usually have a lot of giveaways too. It doesn't seem that useful a stat.

Do you think that would really work, though? I feel like people in southern Ontario aren't so much hockey fans as they are just Leaf fans. I would love to see another team in the area though. |

I'd love to see a Hamilton team, absolutely. But Toronto and Buffalo's territorial rights are a real thing and they'd both be telling a prospective franchise (frank) you pay me.

Depends on how you use him. If he was with Matthews and Marner, the defense part wouldn't have mattered so much if he's scoring 40 goals.
Just the same way you wouldn't expect a shutdown player to score goals, you wouldn't use Skinner to kill penalties or block shots. |

Oh I know - but Willy carries the puck and has it on his stick a lot also….and those numbers are way too high for a winger who doesn’t score that often to have…especially when folks think he’s good 5v5 defensively. Great PK player. PK is a completely different game structurally, pace, positionally, responsibilities from the defensive side. |
