Brooks is the POS who dragged his wife into this. I know Emily Kaplan reported on it to begin with. But it was from a “Jacob wants his wife to have her career” angle and not a “let’s pile on him and his family” angle - picklerick
He reported it because it was the reason. Your disdain for Brooks on this is misguided.

I’m kinda over this locker room issue junk. I’ve brought up Vegas 3 times now. Do you think they have a locker room issue or disgruntled player issue? Everyone will show up to camp and play to win. Maybe even more motivated?? in your view what do you think is happening or will happen because of trouba and goodrow? - picklerick
100% agree. It’s just a lazy excuse for this fan base to piss and moan about. If these guys are as close as people want to believe, there’s more of a chance they’ll come together and “prove ‘em wrong”
At least that’s how I would feel… |

I mean......those just aren't facts. They're your opinions. And you are entitled to them.
95% of trades are finished? You have a crystal ball and know that as fact? Can you tell me what tomorrows winning lottery numbers will be? (not trying to be a douche...just a little joke)
Drurys hands are tied? Sooooo he can't buy out Trouba? Which would free up 4M this year. He can't trade Kakko to free up more space? Are there not wingers available to sign like Tarasenko?
Listen, am i thrilled with Drury right now? No. But again....I'm willing to wait it out to see what happens.
And like I said in my previous post. Even if he sits on his hands and does nothing. Is that really the worst thing right now? We will have tons of cap space to add at the TDL to address whatever deficiencies we have. We will also have a clearer understanding of those needs being that half the season will be played - NYR11
Buying out Trouba will save 4 million but his replacement will cost at least 2.5 to 3. That will leave 1.5 for what? 4th liner? KK is a 3rd liner here, he isnt going to bring anything of value back. |

If they trade Trouba, it might even less then 4 million you suggest. |

try and score more goals than the opponent in the playoff games - jimbro83
That isnt going to happen until our 20 million dollar forwards learn to score 5v5 in the playoffs. |

Mostly my fault on that. Sorry for the garbage read |

Here is what I will say on the matter. Please keep in mind that it is July 3. We are literally two days into free agency. I am not in love with what our GM has fully done with the team now, but I’m also quite cognizant that modifications to this team are still going to take place. In addition, will also have the trade deadline to add resources so to go off and think that they won’t be able to make a run down the road is kind of shortsighted considering we are two days into the off-season. Dislike what has done, but also keep in mind that the window of opportunity as far |

Sprong would help the offense. As I noted, the issue with him is on the defensive side of the game. If the coaching staff can help him with that, then he would be a solid low cost add |

Where does he fit in as a rw with laf, smith, kakko? Or if smith plays LW, what line is that on? Basically what do the lines look like with sprong? I like what he can add for cheap fwiw |

He’s depth. We don’t know if Kakko will be dealt and for what. Plus how they want to construct the third line. That might tell a lot. They may want to keep the space open and wait until a decision is made with the salary for Lindgren and Schneider before signing him. |

They will most likely continue doing that as it a consistent pattern. I try to usually not engage but today pooptt happened

The most important thing is to make sure laf and Shesty get signed. They are kind of in flux a bit till then. It’s a perfect storm of flux really. Smith on a one year deal is the best case for next season, or it could’ve been someone else with a one year deal/left. Keeping in mind that Perrault, othmann AND perhaps Kakko finally blossoms. They need room for them and their ELCs. It is a lot to consider when trying to take care of this season too |

I just can’t fathom thinking the way you do. Just doesn’t register in my head that they have zero chance next year. No true fan thinks like that. Frauds yea, real fans? Nah |

That’s the point though. No team will trade for him if they think he won’t report. What he loses monetarily is irrelevant here because the trade just won’t happen with that looming over it. Who even knows if that’s really something he’s threatened though - picklerick
Its only speculated that he won't report! It could all be bullpoop!
He could still be placed on waivers, San Jose can claim him and then he can go join Goodrow looking for a nice home in the same neighborhood |

In fairness I called him out on it and he owned it. He's pessimistic but he's at least talking hockey and is worth having a conversation with which can't be said about everyone |
