What side does he play? I honestly forget. Both?

Ryan Leonard not signing with the Capitals and going back to college:

“I talked to a lot of people about this. College is the best time of your life. A lot of people that go one and done, 10 years down the road say they regret it. After I made my initial statement of saying I was going to stay, I met Kevin Hayes before I went to Men’s Worlds, and he told me right away, he goes, ‘Dude, if I was in your position, I would stay here as long as you can.’ That kind of went a long way.”

Too much $

Have to wonder I’m growing increasing optimistic about them moving on from konecny. Prob about 20% he’s traded

Well, all I can say is I watched JOB grow up around these parts and he was a damned good hockey player that was going to picked in the 1st round of that draft, if not by the Hextall and the Flyers then by another team. It was a gamble for sure and it didn't work out for Hextall, but I think it was a worthy gamble. Its not anyones fault that the kid got hurt multiple times which curtailed not only his development, but his ability also. None of you on this forum even heard of JOB before his name got called in the draft, and thus none of you have a right to comment about the player.

Even after you watched him grow up. Watched him play. Even he was drafted and the experts all weighed in. You still obviously didn't know anything about him.

No it's not too much. It's peanuts and a fair contract.

Why would anyone listen to Hayes??? Dudes turned into the league bicycle. 32 and on his 5th team.

The vast majority of NHLers don’t go to college. Dudes wasting some prime years.

Torts devalued him. Why couldn’t the coach just make it work?

More alarming is a team just gave up a good draft pick to rid themselves again and this time at half salary. Has that ever happened before

Weren't the Flyers on pace to finish 9th worst before winning those last 2 games this year? I wonder what the Flyers draft would've looked like if they hadn't.

A game here or there is all that stands between 8th and 12th.

- Flyers_01

Yeah but a lot of people if I recall didn’t care about a few spots. They wanted to see team make playoffs. Or make push for playoffs

No but saying Hayes told him he’d “stay there as long as possible” doesn’t really bode well for the capitals - kinda hints he wants to exercise his rights and become a UFA.

Maybe he just wants to win once with Boston. Or maybe he’s just saying that..

My question is, why is Kevin Hayes friends with all these young boys and most importantly, why are they all listening to him??

I didn’t get that at all from the article. He wanted to go back for next year to win the college championship.
