The problem with Ehlers is needing to give him a big contract. I'd rather not trade for Ehlers. - ses111
Don't think he'd be much more then he already is. WPG can't sign him because he doesn't like the city/ team, not that he wants a lot of money. |

Resigning him by the Islanders or another team will cost a lot.

Trade Pullock and JGP plus a draft pick for Elhers and McGoarty. Sign Sprong
Does this move the needle?
Duclair Horvat Barzal
Elhers Nelson Palms
Sprong Cizikas Engvall
Lee McClean Holstrom
Dober Rom
Reilly Pelech
Bolduc Mayfield - Nfdbulldawg
No way they can justify the captain on the 4th @ 7 milly

He’s a great player and worthy of being paid. The problem is the isles have 11 million invested in Lee and Pageau. |

The GM who replaces Lamoriello, whoever that is, must be more contemporary, and have an ability to reach players. I wholeheartedly believe that aside from taxes, and the isles being in the Rangers shadow, younger players don’t wanna deal with Lou’s rules. The new generation isn’t the same….call it softer or whatever you want, but given the choice, they don’t wanna be told they have to shave everyday. That “I’m the boss” attitude doesn’t work anymore, it’s antiquated. |

The new GM also needs to be more visible and give more interviews. Go on the radio and TV and sell this team and a vision. Do not show yourself to be out of touch and above it all and in hiding. I want Wolf of Wall Street personality without the corruption. |

Forget Sprong, have plenty of Sprongs already. And you forgot Tsyplakov, he's getting a shot at making the team for sure, even Lou said he didn't sign him for Bridgeport.

This would be a great lineup. Sorokin needs a bounce back season.

I have a funny feeling our next GM is going to keep things status quo. He’ll more then likely do as his father does if I had to guess. |

Where do you have McGoarty playing? He is going to want to be in the NHL this year.
Defense still looks to be an issue. - ses111
McGroarty has committed to going back to school for next year. Unless he is a standout in camp. I do not see Lou or Roy placing him in the lineup. I am not opposed to him playing.
Defense is still an issue. Moving Pullock and JGP, Wally and a pick was to open up some room for another Defenseman. It was to give the team some flexibility, bring in scoring and add some youth.

You are right I did forget Tsyplakov. Yes, Lee on the 4th line is a rough 7 mil. He is not a bad guy, just a product of over payment on too many years.

Question... Would you sign Nelson 3 for 21 or 4 for 28
8 mil; 8 mil; 5 mil mtc
8.5 mil; 7.5 mil; 7.5 mil; 4.5 mil mtc
Do you think he would sign something like that?
Or trade him at the deadline regardless for assets?

Leafs very much improved their blueline, finally. Lots of risk there but OEL will help with moving the puck, although he can seemingly be extremely hot or cold. Tanev is a defensive beast and, to a much lesser degree, Hakanpaa can be too. But Tanev is injured all the time and isn't getting any younger and Hakanpaa has plenty of limitations.
Goaltending is likely to still be an issue though. |

It will be interesting to see the impact Berube will have on the team. I have to think he is going to expect a lot more of the core 4 and especially during the playoffs.

Not at all Nfd. This is strictly about the Leafs. The team I root for always is willing to change and keep things fresh. |

I'm not sure about this. How soon before the rest of the team gets jealous of all the attention this guy is getting? - ses111
I love how the fans cheer like crazy for every mundane thing he does like he's a little kid figuring out normal stuff for the first time. "Hooray! You made it all the way over the boards without falling!" |

I really hope it’s not Chris. That would be extremely disappointing. I’d replace Lou with whatever proven guy is available and replace the scouting. That’s what they really need. |

Lou puts little value on draft picks. He’s said that over the years in so many words multiple times. That’s reflective in the value he puts on his scouting staff I would assume. |
