lol you’re in the wrong place defending Zib. I’m with you tho.

63 pts in 74 playoff games isn’t that terrible 🤷🏻‍♂️

You guys can die on that hill if you want to... just got one question for you...

How many playoff points did Stephane Matteau score in his career?

Draisaitl zero goals vs Florida, should they “dump” him? If not why not

Sometimes the opponent knows what they’re doing defensively

EDM has a whole different situation to deal with when it comes to Draisaitl.

However, Draisaitl had 28 points in 18 games leading up to the finals against Florida. He was an integral part in their reason for even being there to begin with.

As far as Zibanejad goes, after a sweep of an old and banged up Capitals team that backed into the playoffs, there wasnt much about his play that was all that impressive. Not this playoffs, and especially not last year.

What I find funny is that critiquing Rangers players seems to be a massive sacrilege among several people here. Like god forbid we talk poorly of our players. How dare we. As if we dont want them to succeed.

The main reason we lost was Fox injury, imo. If he’s 100% our chances increase by a wide margin. It killed our ability to move the puck out of the zone which is what was key in the series loss. When he’s healthy he evades a lot of would be checkers and then his vision would open up a lot of room because of how he’s able to spring players forward.

Yet this is a very minute thing people bring up why we lost🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s about being under appreciated. Zib is probably the most under appreciated Rangers based of one year that I can ever remember.

Listen, I know 5 on 5 rules here…but PK is integral to team success. He’s one of the best in the NHL at doing that. Our PK won us games all season

I agree but also put some of it on Lavi for not telling everyone to skate it out whenever possible. The damn puck was a hot potato

Zib and CK play so well at 4 on 5 because their game is transition. They refuse to go into the corners which is a requirement in the playoffs if you want to play a possession game. It seems like they did not buy into the system

To be fair - if you read all the comments
Zib and Trouba’s contracts were clearly the reason

I tell ya I blame Lavy over any single player or collective players as to why Florida beat us. He was out coached by Maurice. Lineup wise especially

See, this is your interpretation of it all. Im not saying I dont appreciate Mika, Im not saying I dont like him. All Im saying is maybe hes just not the #1 guy we were hoping for. Maybe hes a follower and not a leader, and theres nothing wrong with that. Its just disappointing that the guy we were hoping to provide big goals in big moments may not be that guy. Hes developed into an excellent two-way forward, but the guy who puts the team on his back, doesnt look like it.

Ehhhhhhh I think you’re conflating two separate things that can both be true

Injuries played a part in us losing

Certain players, uninjured, did not perform

A healthy fox would’ve helped greatly but unsure if we had enough to beat the cup champs anyway

There’s nothing more to say about fox being injured. His knee was (frank)ed. We all agree. Why would we need to keep talking about it?

The whole team was outskated the entire series versus Florida. They were to the puck first most of the time, and if they werent they had our guys pinned against the boards until they got it.

Troubas contract is an impediment no question. Mika underperformed and is paid a lot. Easy to discuss that over and over because people have different feelings about it. Again I ask, what can we debate or rehash about fox’s knee? I think you guys are getting a little crazy this offseason

This offseason? I’m always cray cray lol

I’d take my chances vs Florida under the same circumstances except having a healthy Fox. He isn’t Joe Schmo, he’s arguably the best puck moving defenseman in the NHL. And what was our problem most of all? Moving said puck

I just wonder what would have happen if he dressed Jones instead of JBrod the games Rempe didn’t play. He really dropped the ball there because it eases the D minutes on everyone and he’s a puck mover

I don’t necessarily disagree. I just think a healthy fox alone still may not have been enough. Mika’s line was ass. Trouba sucked but I don’t think enough by himself to swing anything

Trouba definitely sucked. He/They said he was healthy. But, I think that despite not being in pain or structurally hampered, he was certainly still affected by the ankle. Can't imagine him being so far off his game otherwise.
