Lance posted something about the Sabres making the move due to injury concerns
Makes sense - Boss34
This really feels off ice to me. I would not expect Lance to say that.

Yes, he has a being on time issue supposedly. |

Which is the reason I like zegras over both. 2 years of contract then rfa + higher ceiling. Granted, certainly a lower floor. I still think zegras would be a grandslam. - turbo044 I love Zegras as well. But, imo, just mind opinion mind, Konecny fits more of what is needed in the top 6 atm. Also gives us age diversification. Teams built all around one age dont work for a reason, mostly to do with the cap.

What do you think of Carlsson and McTavish? - kingcong39
Leo is the man… He’s going to be unbelievable.. I basically picture Sundin - with better wheels -
McTavish is a stud also… more along the lines of a junior Junior Messier at this point. I think he’s gonna end up on the wing. With the ability to play center.

Kevyn is at bemus point for the summer
Punched out, probably exhausted from all the conversations
I think we’re thru, doubt they get zegras - Boss34
I'd be surprised as well. We know how much they like Kulich and Wahlberg.

Well if you weren't Happy last offseason with him, probably should have moved him then. - Buff36
I like McLeod , hard to say if Savoie was an overpayment .
I thought Savoie would make the Sabres out of camp this season. I guess injuries are a concern. |

I am not mad about the Trade, Kevyn is trying and I like that. Just seems late alot when a move should be made. |

I think that's a pretty bad misstatement. Prospects lose value over time, if they don't make it to the NHL. No one is talking about Benson's value being down. The longer it takes you to make it, the lower the chance of becoming an impact player. - Lunaion
But what are you going to do? Nobody has a crystal ball. People here would have given Mitts away for free 3 years ago, until they wouldn't. Savoie's stock with us dropped a bit, so we traded him to a team where he might fit better for a variety of reasons. There isn't a need to make grand, sweeping statements about any of it. If he stayed, maybe he would have been fine.

one other thing that we all forget. Gerbe has been spot on with items that the team controls (Meatballs being fired, Skinner being let go, etc). He can only report on the other things he is hearing. He has given us nuggets about potential trades, most of which never happened. Its fun to discuss, but getting Zegras is by no means a done deal (and probably not likely given that most trade discussions don't pan out). |

Is he even a C? He's a winger no? - DirtyDan
With Carlsson and McTavish, would he be the 3rd line Center for them, if not a top 6 wing? |

I don't get the idea that last year was the time to be patient and now is go time. This is all about job pressure and not a grand plan. - Lunaion
Feels like he's trying to make Lindy happy, as he has tried to make every single member of their org happy seemingly every season. |

Patience really should have been gone in November December January of the 1pt season. And what Adams did last offseason killed his plan IMO. He slowed played again and sent his Hope Plan spiraling. - Buff36
Still believe Adams was shocked at the teams performance during the 1 point miss season, as he had expected them to be bad, and had given up after the lengthy early season losing streak.
His plan up until this offseason was to be almost entirely isolationist.
He's definitively deviated from the isolationist plan he had been following. |

Same problem that Ehlers has: one year left on his contract. Also, 30 years old. But sure, you'd love to get him and extend him for 2 - 3 years.

Without the massive over performance two years ago we would all be somewhat happy with the slow roster development.
If Tim Murray was here last offseason we would really have an empty cupboard |

I looked for the article and couldn’t find it .
Basically the Sabres said it was injury related only according to lance
What are the Sabres gonna publicly say?

Sabres have lacked the “go for it” approach the entire time under Adams .
It’s not his nature. Which is fine, if you make smart trades. |

Konecny gone after one year, zegras cost controlled for at least 3 years. I like konecny a lot too but the aforementioned difference is huge. We’re not in the market for rentals nor to pay another 30 year old $9million/year |

Be a interesting acquisition, wouldn't cost as much. Don't like the 1yr contract, but could be a bridge to Kulich if you still think Kulich is part of your plan. |

Due to last years injuries and his limited game action, Zegras would have two RFA seasons left after the 25-26 season before becoming a UFA...? |

He is at 5.75 per for 2 years, and then one more RFA
