Wrong, disagree all you want. Just remember, some also can, strangely, disagree with your assessment. 2nd for an AHLer, gross. Potential middle winger for sure thing PKing 3C, I mean it’s like alright.

To you it is, to me a Potential Top line player who just turned 20 is still more valuable then a POSSIBLE middle 6 24yr old 3C.

If Savoie has so much more value than a 2-3rd line center entering his prime, please show the last prospect to be traded (alone, no picks included) for something more. Remember contract and age of other player is important details too.

Great that’s fine. No one is telling you what to think. But question.
How is McLeod a possible middle six 3C? Hasn’t he proven it. Also, no one is arguing value. Team need being cited as the reason for being ok with the trade.

Because the things he started this year should have been started last off-season or even the 1pt season. And then you make it easier on yourself the following year on what needs you need. Just because Adams finally decided to start doing things he already should have done doesn't excuse the Sh!t work he's done the last couple years.

1. You're absolutely right. We all agree on this. He failed the last 2 offseasons (and sometimes in-season). Nothing new here.

2. Why do we need to continue to drag this around? It ruins objectivity. He had the wrong plan last year, and now he appears to have the right one. Whether or not it succeeds is a different question.

I could see dragging around last year if Adams made a bunch of really dumb trades and we questioned his sanity. That didn't happen. He was a rookie GM that took things a bit too slow. He apparently learned from that.

Then use a lesser Prospect, everyone knew 3C was a need. The whole league knew, doesn't mean you use Savoie to do it, especially here.

Well it is a Hockey Message board, and we aren't exactly talking about a team that has done much in a long time. So what do you expect.

Last season this... Two seasons ago that.... Remember when is truly the lowest form of conversation. I think there is another two months of off season and then on to the camps in September and then to league play. I don't think any of that has happened yet.

Second best time to plant a tree is today and that is happening. Let's see what happens.

If it could have happened, it probably would have. It was the price. Nothing more and nothing less.

I asked you this question yesterday, you may have missed it.

Substitute Rosen for Savoie - is that still an overpayment in your book?

Savoie could end up being he next Peterka or Quinn, he could also end up being the next Alex Nylander or Krebs. Talented - looks to be. Warts - a bunch of them. Future will decide, McCleod is a know quantity and fills a gaping hole. Savoie probably would have been in Rochester the whole season (he's not a Benson), and given his size, injury concern would have been high.

Yes, and I think we can all agree that he wasn't qualified to be GM. Hopefully his slow-playing will be the biggest lesson that he had to learn and that he might actually be a decent or even good GM.

So with what the Sabres have done, what kind of Conversations are we supposed to be having.

No, because Rosen was never projected to be a Top 3 pick or Top line player.

See how everyone is jumping on Quinn because he thinks it was a Overpayment. Just because the Sabres needed a 3C, doesn't make it not a Overpayment. We got a piece that will hopefully help us, but it shouldn't have taken Savoie.

Whats to say the next Gm is better than Adams? Iv seen some really bad gm’s get recycled. Also hes traded ONE top prospect.

Adams screwed up last offseason. After seeing how the season turned out thats a fact. But looks like he learned a thing or two.

Hired a good coach
Better balance drafting
Upgrading the weaknesses of the team
Maybe not sitting and waiting for the prospects.

Id rather have a gm that learned from his mistakes and a retread stuck in 2002.

- ZiggyBuff

I have no idea if the next GM will be better, but he can't be much worse. Also, I'd like them to have the most ammo they can at their disposal to maximize their results. We know Adams is bad. While I have little hope Pegula can bring in a great GM, even a competent one (Ruff's equivalent) would do a world of good. I'm wondering if the NHL would step in to help in the GM search again.

Is it that crazy to think Adams and other GMs viewed Savoie as the lesser prospect? I guess I don’t think it is. Would it have been great to pull a solid 3C option for a second instead of a plunk 13 F in Beck? Sure. All trades are not created equal and all times of trades bring different values.
