Isn't Eichel the ultimate sell low trade?

The top 6 killed this team last year, not the bottom 6. Right now, they are betting everything on Lindy figuring that out.

Yes and no. "yes" in the sense we were selling an injured player. "no" in the sense that we could have not waited and accepted the crappy offers that we were getting. Many people here were urging him to take the first decent offer.

Savoie could win the Calder and the Cup this year and I won't care as long as the Sabres make the playoffs and McLeod is an important part of that. Savoie wasn't going to win any awards here with us this year but he might with Edmonton

Agreed. As of right now, Savoie's success or failure is irrelevant to the Sabres. All that matters is McLeod's and Tullio's success for the Sabres.

I keep hearing how McLeod was a fourth line player. Where do people think Savoie is going to slot in that lineup?

Agreed. As of right now, Savoie's success or failure is irrelevant to the Sabres. All that matters is McLeod's and Tullio's success for the Sabres.

I think that a trade for Zegras, even when we significantly overpay, should make everyone feel better about all of the moves made this offseason.

This will be the first roster built in a LONG time that was constructed with an identity from top to bottom that matches the coach.

If we get Zegras, and we are playing well by December I bet all of us here are all drinking egg nog and singing carols and laughing about all this discussion

I can't imagine that he would. The guy has barely played in the AHL. As meatballs pointed out last year, what set Benson apart from all of our other top prospects is that he was already really responsible in his own end.

Love his skills, they are ridiculous. Despite Gerbe's proclamation, I don't see them trading for Zegras, too much of a "me" person. Farabee for a much lesser package seems more realistic. Krebs + small piece for Farabee. PHI loves Krebs (so does KA for some reason), but we have no room for Krebs any longer

1. We needed to do some serious shopping this offseason
2. The preferred method of payment was either picks or prospects
3. Savoie was apparently the preferred prospect to be used as payment.

Selling would have been moving him for picks or more-distant futures

All of the unsigned D prospects (8) have been drafted the past two years. Beyond that, it's Novikov, Komarov, Power and Johnson since 2019.

2019-2022, 4 years, 4 prospects have been signed to play D. Mats "Momma" Lindrgren and Albert Lyckasen washed out.

Six defensemen, 4 years. 2018 was all defense except Pekar. Was a brutal draft beyond Samuelsson.
