on the caps

"After a surprising run to the 2024 playoffs, the front office has not stood pat, trading for Pierre-Luc Dubois, Jakob Chychrun and Logan Thompson, and signing Matt Roy. Those are not moves made by a team content to be in draft lottery position."

sounds like what a few of us wanted last summer when we had that cap room

I get the "wanting/needing to make moves", but they kind of remind me of Detroit. They make a lot of moves, but it very much feels like arranging deck chairs.

if they can get Ryan Leonard to sign his entry deal and leave college, they look legit top 3 in the division

C'mon homie, that's ridiculous. Roy was a great signing, but the rest of that roster is still highly mediocre. I mean, PDL as your top center? C'mon. And a kid coming out of college is going to tip the scales?

Why is it a Victory Lap to want your Team to do better or moves that could have been made earlier that could have helped with that last and this Year. I would be taking a Victory Lap and Sh!tting on all of you had they made the moves and they made the playoffs. Sure as hell be better Not having to talk about the same sh!t again.

drop perry down and insert evander kane and savoie in the lineup
- homiedclown

Kane is washed and savoie isnt / shouldn’t make the oilers. There is no way he should be there on day 1 of next season

The oilers might force it but he shouldn’t

I think they are hoping that Kane goes on LTIR to start the season. What a stupid move it was to re-sign him.

A point can be made that many on this board are overly-impressed by the moves made by other teams. I get the jealousy in them having a GM that makes moves, but it seems that so often objectivity goes out the window.

I wonder if the Sabres need to get Trouba or Farabee or both to make a Zegras trade. Trouba coming to Buffalo probably doesn’t help the no trade or whatever with Trouba, maybe it does if he has to waive it to go to Buffalo, but more likely the Sabres don’t want to lose one of their right shot NHL ready D without replacing him.. Farabee is the NHL ready forward the Ducks might be coveting otherwise Jordan Greenway or Krebs are the only options the Sabres really have that I think we can say they would be willing to lose. This takes teams out of the running for Zegras too. I said I heard Briere liked Krebs at the trade deadline. Reminded him of him. Man that would suck if it ended up like that. Another athlete from Buffalo to Philly I can get thanked for.

I’d take the shot on Zegras. In the end it would cost you Krebs, Joker or Clifton, Krebs, 25 first, Kulich or Wahlberg and Rosen or Ostlund. That’s the way I see it and worthy of everyone is fired if they aren’t good.

I never said he was a bad player, I am just not a fan of signing guys to long contracts that are over 30. That said, I thought he made more than 5+ mill a year. This was the first time in quite a while that he played most of the regular season, and sure enough he was clearly hurt in the playoffs. I would have offered him 2 or 3 years and walked if he didn't like that.

Think it's more about trying and willing to take that chance more than overly impressed. They look like they want to Win, might not Work but players see that. Adams hasn't been willing to do that and IMO is why he hears NO A Lot

You can't take Trouba under any circumstance, even if they hold celery. He looks like he is spent - what are you to do if he is? He has 2 more years left.

Yeah I agree with this. Take your shot at having a legitimately a good team if you add a top 6 forward.

When Marty biron goes on Sabres tv and says it’s a must and even Paul Hamilton does.

Both of them never give a decent opinion on that trades. Paul Hamilton also mocks fans for wanting trades generally speaking.

When they are also pounding the table for one.

It’s all on Adams to make the obvious decision make a move.

I completely get that, but "take a chance" is just so... empty? Most of the times the chances are guys that were on the scrap heap somewhere else. It seems like the good teams like Florida can find the diamonds in the rough, whereas detroit and washington just keep cycling vets. I mean, does anyone think that PDL is going to be someone that he hasn't been in his career so far? I dare say that volume of moves has no correlation to winning.

He played on a broken Ankle for most of the Year, said it healed by the playoffs but still had a chunk broken off.
