I completely get that, but "take a chance" is just so... empty? Most of the times the chances are guys that were on the scrap heap somewhere else. It seems like the good teams like Florida can find the diamonds in the rough, whereas detroit and washington just keep cycling vets. I mean, does anyone think that PDL is going to be someone that he hasn't been in his career so far? I dare say that volume of moves has no correlation to winning.

Well it's pretty much known if the Rangers hold 2 or 3mill I would take him. He's different because I would want to take 3 minutes a night away from him. He's definitely not what he used to be, but 18min a night PK Duties and just let Power play Hockey cause Trouba will Head hunt you if you Mess with his Teammates. He's owed 6mill in actual money the last 2 years, get them to retain 3mill and you are really only paying 3mill a year in actual cash. I think he's worth that.

I get the appeal, i really do. He does bring a lot to the table. That's just an expensive swing and miss if he sucks. I can take a chance for one year at 6, but two years is a gamble. I think Gudas is the ideal guy to fit that role, but it doesn't sound like he is available.
