Im fine with Mcleod - DirtyDan
Honestly curious about what everyone thinks of Kakko, I have not watch him and only know thus far he appears to have under achieved. Wondering what's he worth in our eyes and if he's worth the gamble (I'm sure NYR fans will overvalue him in a trade if I asked them). |

He hasn't lived up to his potential in the slightest, he only averages .05 more points per game than McLeod does and McLeod was brought here for his defensive play.
Wouldn't make sense to trade Savoie for someone who is an older version of Savoie IMO opinion of course |

Would Savoie have gotten us Kaapo Kakko? and would we want him (does he have 2nd line potential at this point)? - BuffaloHerd
I rather have McLeod to be perfectly honest. Now, I'd be willing to take a chance on Kakka, but (a) wouldn't pay a lot and (b) prefer at least a half dozen more proven guys over him. |

Thanks, so not a good consideration for our 2nd line void. |

Some good insight on the offseason so far mainly:
Pronman said Savoie was fourth and wrote, “I also don’t think Savoie’s trade value is all that high in the NHL based on my survey of teams.”
So maybe getting a third-line center for him isn’t a bad return. Savoie could absolutely blossom into a legitimate top-six NHLer. He knows how to play with top-end talent and has been a prolific scorer in junior hockey. He still needs to develop the playing strength to win puck battles and make plays on the walls. He’s going to have a great chance at success if he gets to play with some of Edmonton’s top players. And the Sabres have plenty of depth in their prospect pool to withstand this loss. |

He has the skill set but hasn't been able to put it together. If he was our 2nd line answer then we are in big trouble. I would rather run with Zucker or Benson on the 2nd line than him. |

Kakko is closer to a complete bust than a 2nd liner. Rangers basically gave him a 1year move it or lose it deal. |

This can’t possibly be true, after all the recent hockeybuzz posts
Savoie is the best prospect on the planet and Adams is very bald |

how many guys scored 24 goals or more last season?
the answer is 90
there is 32 teams in the nhl so the first 96 guys are scoring at top line production, which kane did

Wow didn't know he had reached that point, would he offer lower value to the Sabres than Krebs? |

I keep reading Rangers are in on Zegras, and assumed Kakko would be one of the main pieces they'd offer (Kakko, another good roster player with 5+ mil cap hit, and 1st rd pick). I guess we can assume Rangers may have interest in Zegras but are not a realistic trade candidate. |

IF we're interested in Zegras, and despite what Gerbe says, I do not think we are, we could make a much better offer than the rags. Something like:
Kulich - better prospect than the rags could offer
2025 1st (higher 1st than the rags have
Rosen
Krebs
A defenseman prospect like RJO

Not sure, but that's probably comparable. I'm higher on Krebs than most though, so might be the wrong person to say. |

That's a big overpay IMO. That's better than we got for Jack to put it in perspective. |

Perhaps, just a guess. Don't fall into the trap of overvaluing our prospects. Kulich is the only one that would hurt
Jack's salary was also $10million, where Zegras has 2 years left at half of that then RFA |

I would do that deal without shipping out one of Rosen or RyJo
You overpay for someone custom made to fit the roster hole |

If you are right and we don't trade away Kulich, do we get to have more than 23 players for the Global games? Wondering if they would bring Kulich and have him play in Czechia. |

I disagree. Losing RyJo and Kulich in that deal is too much to part with. I thought RyJo looked pretty good in his limited time last year and he's still got plenty of upside. If Kevo uses those 5 pieces on Zegras, that is a big overpayment imo.
I saw someone posted a suggestion sending Krebs, a 2nd rounder and Ostlund for Farabee and that to me is more realistic but also an overpay. |

I agree, maybe that's what Ducks would like but doubt he gets trade if they hold firm.
I would think we would offer:
2025 1st rd pick (top 10 protected)
Wahlberg or Kulich (not both)
Krebs
McCarthy |
