Hey Kids, you like the Rock n Roll? I think we can all agree that Good Times Bad Times is the GOAT first song on a debut album. People must've been blown away hearing Bonham's triplets on the single pedal base drum for the 1st time. I'm not saying it's #2, but this gem from Shake Your Moneymaker is up there.

How do we apply to be blogger, it seems like someone can throw together more than one blog per quarter
- Shadman306

Maybe we all take a turn writing something and passing it over to Brad. He could supplement his Blogs with "Guest Blog of the week". From time to time, I seen lengthy comments that are Blog article worthy.

Twice as hard was the first release? Could have sworn it was Jealous again, which is a great song

All the posters Brad's trying to trade have huge warts and besides, that trade shoulda been made last year but Brad spends too much time on his boat. I bet Brad's bald, too.

Sounding more like McGroarty is a real Headcase. Winnipeg having Teams back out of Trades because of his Demands.

Funny you bring him up.
I was thinking the Sabres should target him now

Guess Montreal had Mesar 2025 1st Barron or Harris on the Table and after talking with McGroarty took the offer back.

Technically we're both right: Jealous again was the first song released but Twice as hard is track #1, which I think is what you're referring to. As fro the Crowes, I once:

1. Bought tickets to a ZZ Top show solely to see them open up. I didn't stay for all of ZZ Top (not a fan)
2. Bought tickets for Crowes/Warrant/Metallica/Aerosmith. Like Crowes and Metallica. Thunderstorms throughout the day and the cancelled Warrant. I was happy about that but all the little girls in the crowd were not

Best song on a great record. Just listened to a 3 hour interview w Brendan O'Brian, who helped engineer this record (among a thousand other great records), and he talks quite a bit about it (if you're a music nerd/musician, of which I am both, you'd find it interesting).

I don't think he wants to fight for it:

McGroarty stated his intention earlier this year to return to college for his junior year rather than sign his NHL entry-level contract. The Athletic's Murat Ates reported the Jets couldn't promise the youngster NHL playing time in 2024-25.

Yup, I was going for Track #1, Good Times Bad Times might not of been the first single release either. First track on an album is a thing of the past with the way music is purchased these days. I thought it was cool though.

Did you get to see Metallica or were they canceled too? Was too young for concerts when the Crowes came out. My first concert was NIN at the Sky Dome in Toronto. They opened with Terrible Lie.

Was this Rochester by chance? If so, I was there. Was definitely a Metallica crowd. I remember Chris flipping off people in the crowd.

I spent a lot of hours listening to the Crowes. They were my band for a long time. They fell off the radar after the second album but they put out a lot of solid work. The Robinson brothers can be arrogant but they wrote a lot of great music. And having Marc Ford and Audley Freed as their lead guitar players was a treat. Ford definitely didn't get the recognition he deserved.

Just a great album. Opens up and Chris Robinson just starts howling back to back with Twice as Hard and Jealous Again.

This guy, Rick Beato, deep dives into songs, records, has great interviews with incredible musicians, etc. Originally from Rochester, NY, lives in Atlanta now. His YouTube channel is just incredible.

Here's that interview...

Rochester - was there - before Metallica - after the thunderstorm - they played War Pigs (Cover by Faith No More) - and the entire stadium sang along - made the hair stand up on my neck

Yeah - I lived in Buffalo at the time, and the concert was in Rochester - over 30 years ago. Crowes on first and were great, then it poured and they cancelled Warrant, Metallica on 3rd, in their prime and they were great, Aerosmith was okay. Weird grouping of 4 bands, all very different styles.
