Blake Coleman would be an awesome get, IMO.
He played a pivotal role for the Bolts on their 3rd line during their SC years. He can play 2LW all day here and bring some SC swagger/leadership. - IonSabres
What do you think it would cost? I don't think Calgary is doing a re-build rather re-tooling so I expect they would want a good roster player (IMO that's not Krebs), so would Samuelsson be the traded piece? |

A Top 4 D is the need, more specifically a partner for Power on P2.
Power played 19:27 ATOI at ES
Trouba player 18:10 at ES, and 2.55 on PK.
If the goal is to reduce Trouba's ES minutes by 3:00, then he would play about 15:00 a night, which is P3 time and presumptive playing those 15 as sheltered. That means you are taking those sheltered minutes away from current P3 guys...now subjecting them to being exposed.
If the need is for a true Top 4, then go and get a Top 4.
Anderson anybody?
Yes, the Top 4 will be expensive. It is why having young guys on ELC's are critical in the future. |

I wanted a D shakeup, but Joker's deal likely ended any thoughts of doing that.

IDK about trade values, but I do know I would not trade Samuelsson, nor do I expect Adams to do so this offseason. I think he gives Lindy time to see what he thinks of him. I expect him to be in the Top 4. If he isn't in their plans there, then trade him as $4.3 is too much for P3.
I would however trade Joker, Cliffy, as I think Johnson would be an upgrade over both and save money. I suspect Calgary would be happier with RyJo too.
How about Sammy, RyJo, Krebs +'25-2nd
for
Coleman and R Anderson

How about the trade I proposed above (disclaimer, I have not looked at contract status beyond Coleman with a few at $4.9 |

I don't think that offer gets you Andersson, let alone both. Also, if Calgary were selling off, they wouldn't have waited this long to start.
You know the deal with trades....easy to pick apart.

5K runs are tough because you typically go at 90% - it's a young person's race. 10 Milers - half marathons are easier, with training - turbo044
90%...?

Curious what the trade price would be for him.
33 to 35 age years for the remainder of his contract. |

Running lingo: 100% is typically considered 400m speed. You're not running a 5K at 400m speed or you're walking 1/2 mile into it |

Yep especially getting your legs to go during that 2nd 5k, when the first 1/2 mile or so they feel like concrete. |

I like Andersson very much, so yes but doubt Calgary would say yes. Unless they have a young RD pushing to replace Andersson, it will take a significant over payment to get him (Don't think Sammy + RyJo gets Andersson, maybe next year when he's 1 yr away from being a UFA). Krebs + 2nd rd pick also doesn't get Coleman.
Andersson might be closer to Sammy + Benson (good RD tend to be expensive), I'm not sure what Coleman's value might be (he's signed for 3 more seasons cap salary of 4.9 Mil) so wondering if adding Greenway and Joker (to help their new RD situation) gets both Andersson and Coleman. Losing Benson would sting but I'm guessing they wouldn't want a prospect and would seek a young NHL player in the deal. I probably wouldn't do this trade. |

Ya, I agree. I am also not the best in creating mock trade values.
He saw a serious increase in G's after playing up in the lineup in the top 6, which is a good sign for fitting here.
I really like the guy, solid player who can produce. |

Well, he also shot 50% above his career average. That's a big warning sign. Very likely to return to his normal 35 points.

Best bet is they are done. If you have bet on something, Krebs to Philly probably tops the list. |

The Buffalo Sabres only needs elite prospects, but all elite prospects must be on Buffalo's NHL roster. - BuffaloHerd
I'm not telling you anything, as you have properly stated over the past several years, the Sabres should be trading multi-prospect/player packages for a single better player to improve the top of the roster. Leverage the pipeline...nothing wrong with top 6/top 4 or middle 6/P3 prospects...just maximize the value for help now. |

Yes, a regression should be anticipated as you pointed out. He's the kind of guy you want on your roster though. Playing those L2 minutes with assumed better players I think contributed as well to that spike in Gs. All around solid player..went through the learning to not cheat the system. If he could manage to hang in that 50 points range for on ice contribution it would be a solid get. He would become Lindy's trusted player to help drive player accountability.
Trade him in y3 TDL if there is a younger player chomping to take his job...2 years would be solid. |
