Think UPL and Levi can co-exist that well? - Lunaion
We have no info on that right? Could be yes, could be no.
I do know that competition is a good thing for the team.

Malenstyn had a 2 year prediction of 1.568. For arb his ask was probably 1.6x1 and the Sabres was 1.1x2 |

I agree. If it’s a 1 year at 6 mill. Who cares. I agree we need to see more.
Also Levi needs to show what he can do.
Long term. No way we are affording to keep 2 decently high priced goalies - Sabretooth9
We all should care, make his QO 6Mill |

Found the guy who personally reached out to Stephenson on behalf of the Sabres. Said there was mutual interest but Buffalo had no intention of coming close to that Seattle contract. - TheSabresTaco
Good. He's a declining player. I really didn't want him given age, declining production and contract projections |

UPL credits the existence of Levi in pushing himself to perform better last year.

At first (early spring) I was pretty high on the idea. Soured ever since, but I admit I was in a "do something" frame of mind on 7/1 and would have been excited for a minute to see a contract with him. Definitely not that contract though. Three years, 10M would have been fine that day.
Then I'd remember why I was souring on him for months.
I'm way more excited about McCleod and what he can offer this team in that role vs Stephenson.

Krebs has been replaced by 2 players this offseason.
McLeod and laffery
Unless he’s 3rd line left wing? Which would be very risky - Sabretooth9
I will believe it when i see it
right now I fully expect krebs, and joker to be overplayed because they want to be here |

Think we have some insight. UPL played his best when Levi was sent down and the net was his. We watched Levi leverage his way into the #1 job last year. Think he'll be a happy backup for long?

If Krebs is still here, think it's over a 50% chance he's opening night 4C.

Yes, at age 29.
Chances are greater his production slides over the next 4 years... He may have a good season or so, but generally I see him sliding back. |

I'd be reasonably ok with gambling on a short term lower dollar deal. That Seattle contract is another albatross though. And Seattle doesn't have Mark Stone. For the third line role, you'd hope you're getting someone with defensive acumen. He doesn't have that. So you're now using that line to outscore instead of defend. Now, all your defense sits with the 4th line, and Lafferty isn't a strong defender.
The balance would be subpar.

The Sabres have admitted multiple times that Krebs is better at center.
The Sabres have used a top prospect to acquire a 3rd line center.
The Sabres have admitted that Lafferty is here to play 4th line center.
Krebs is here for two reasons. As a trade chip and as center depth insurance. |

McLeod offers good value for sure. Give the kid some "players" and let's see what he can do.
I have often thought about
Rosen-McLeod-Quinn as a line with good 200' game with lots of upside |

Dress 13F.
Kidding. If they are healthy, NAK. NAK and Malenstyn aren't guys who need to play every night. When you overpay for Malenstyn, maybe you have to.
How often are 13F's all healthy?

well.. on occasion.
NAK provides a ton of positive value in that 4th line role. I think you can make a case for 5 or 6 different guys to sit. And imagine is Kulich or Rosen make the roster.

Joe ordered it at half mast when he "endorsed" Kamala (even though he said 1-3 weeks ago that he felt nobody else was ready to take his place in answering why he was continuing to run).
Man that onset comes on quick.. matter of days apparently lol) - IonSabres

We'll see soon enough. Roster is pretty full right now to keep anyone else around. Wouldn't be shocked if they dump Greenway or Krebs. Giving away Krebs would feel pretty gross though.
