Go get Zegras
Tuch-Tage-JJ
Quinn-Zegras-Cozens
Benson-McLeod-Zucker
Larry’s, but better.
You can move zegras up to L1 wing and shift Cozens back to 2c if needed and move JJ around.
Flexibility - ImThatGuy
Don't mind that, but still think a guy like Rakell would be just as good and a fraction of the cost to acquire. No sense putting JJ and Jack on off wings each, just flip the two of them if need be. Outside that, it does arrange the lineup much better. |

So he doesn't develop into Victor Olofsson 2.0 - DirtyDan
He's smarter and faster. More dynamic.

Im just talking having a 200-foot game vs being a Skinner/Olofsson type player where you are a black hole on D.

I wonder if this is just the product of Adams' plan backfiring. He obviously envisioned a team with 4 scoring lines. Now we're going back to a traditional top and bottom 6. Going to be some square pegs going in round holes, but only time will tell. I think it'll be sooner than 3 years for Ostlund and Helenius though. - QuinnFan
gave my argument a 3 year cushion but id bet you're right.
I'm not so sure he pivoted in this way.
He's still employing 3 scoring lines and a pure checking line, he just wants that bottom 6 to be way harder to play against instead of a bunch of Charmain Ultras back there. He did remove scoring in CM and replaced it with strong defensive responsibility in RM. Now putting Benson and Kulich next to him could actually be interesting. |

Yeah I mentioned the flexibility part a bunch of times a few weeks ago.
It also enables the lines to be balanced and you aren’t forcing a Benson or zucker into a role they shouldn’t be in
Everyone would be slotted correctly |

Fair. Gotta just wait and see I guess. Just really worried we're heading towards a very dark November. That'll be around the time the "need to gel" excuses dry up and we realize we went backwards. |

did we have to trade for a 3rd center because Krebs and Savoie are busts and Adams did not want to extend Casey? |

Yeah nbd. End of the day I think they'll need to use a few prospects to fill out their roster. Targeting the right player especially with everything they have in the pipeline and the raises 4 important players get next year is paramount. Question is, who's running this franchise next year.

Zegras
Necas doesn’t play defense like skinner but is more dynamic offensively.
Think Afinaganov |

Casey wanted tage and cozens type money in the Sabres.
He took less to stay with the Avs |

Because they didn't talk with him until about a month before the TDL. I don't blame him at that point, he even said he was confused about no one talking with him. |

He was going to have to be traded one way or another, could of gotten someone to better fit the needs of the team tho IMO.
Byram's great, ton of potential still but not what we needed exactly i think. |

I think long term, one of the 3 centers had to be traded between cozens, tage and casey but we had the cap space to sign casey and deal with trading one next summer not this past spring but I do not agree casey had to be the one traded
and I dogged casey as much as anyone before the last 18 months |

Hes my odd man out.
Tage is better no question. Cozens was better but had a down year. Casey finally put a full year tg... only took him 260+ games
