Will she now go to the Southern Border?...or Europe first? She wasn't been to either according to her. The caravan preparing to invade our country would be a good time for the Border Czar to see wtf is going on. Or, maybe join Bebe to watch and hear his speach.
Maybe the coronation effort was too much work for somebody who hasn't worked in 3-1/2 years. |

Hope he grabs it, or atleast a W somewhere in the middle 6. Think with McLeod's speed and puck retrieval skills that Kulich could be deadly with that shot coming of the boards. |

puck gm is the wild west of horrid trades.
UPL for a career AHL defender.
Zach Benson for a 2nd round pick.
Peyton Krebs for a 6th round pick.
Jack Quinn and a 1st for Pontus Holmberg and Bobby McMann.
Alex Tuch for Filip Chytil.
These trade boards need policing by the chiding public.

Savoie is a solid middle 6 prospect with some star chance still. But he's certainly closer to McDavid than McLeod either way. McLeod is a good teams 4C IMO. - QuinnFan
He was a great ( 2 goals away from a SC victory) team's 3C. |

Exactly. I don’t get why people think McLeod is some bum and savoie is an elite player.
McLeods analytics check out. Savoie has had an interesting last 2 years of development and got hurt both years.
I think the Sabres did okay on that trade. |

Hate to say it, but we're the only fanbase that can lose 13 years in a row and talk about a good player being the odd man out. Good teams keep those guys. Nothing against Byram, but Mitts is a more valuable piece IMO. We could have came up with a good package for a young RHD without giving up Mitts and putting us back into the center search.
We need to start keeping these guys during the prime years, not shipping them off to compete against us when they break through. Know you aren't disagreeing with this, just kind of go fired up by the "odd man out" point. You're right...and it's infuriating. - QuinnFan
One of them had to go. You weren't paying your 3c 7x7. As well as the other 2.
I also said I would've liked a different player than Byram.

Well depends on Savoie, kid could explode with some of that talent he will be playing with. 2 different styles of players. See how it goes and if McLeod helps us will be the telling tale. Until we hit the ice and see what happens, we overpaid. |

Its pretty telling if he doesn't. He has a way easier path to success in Edmonton

I agree they are both different players.
My point is: McLeod already has proven who he is at the NHL level. He does have some offensive upside when he plays with more offensive players.
My problem with your point is you already think Savoie is going to be amazing. Sure, he can be good. But there isn’t any proof of it.
No world junior team invites, struggled in his AHL level games, and absolutely sucked when he played 4 minutes in his only NHL game. He didn’t even dominate as a 20 year old in juniors this year. He was up and down.
I guess my point is. McLeod is more of a sure thing than what savoie is.
Savoie to me is damaged goods. Who knows what he will become. |

Let's be fair here.
He did play in worlds. He had 5 points in 6 AHL games last year. His 4 minutes had nothing to do with his play.
All signs point to him being at least a decent middle 6.

You and I are normally on the same page, most times.
IDK here... Their is evidence that McLeod is a decent player and what the team needed at 3C.
Further, this board was clamoring for Adams to trade Prospects for NHL players at position of needs.
We don't know what Savoie will turn out to be, so it is hard to say they over paid.. on paper, maybe. But to your point, Savoie hasn't seen NHL game time of even low significance to make a proper assessment.
I think you are spot on in your determination that we need to wait.
I don't agree that it is a slam dunk they overpaid, though. I loved Savoie and was excited to see him compete this preseason, but thought he would likely be a AHL player this season. |
