1 mil for a guy who scored 18 goals last year is great value. He might work beside Petey. - NorthNuck
Lots of options available it seems.
We all love the 3rd line anchored by Garkand and Joshua, but I’d like to see Joshua get a shot on the top 6.

Hearing Daniel Sprong has agreed to sign with the Vancouver Canucks.
Podkolzin just got more competition.

Brilliant signing. One of the most efficient scorers in the league |

DeBrusk-Pettersson-Hoglander
Heinen-Miller-Boesser
Joshua-Suter-Garland
Sherwood-Bluger-Sprong
Podkolzin and DiGusippe as extras.
That top 12 looks pretty solid tbh.
Given his lack of waivers, I wonder if they look to move on from Podkolzin at this point (barring any injuries) - dbot
I would be surprised that RT puts 2 RS wingers together and keeps two left shot wingers on same line if he could put in a RS one.
Also as mentioned to you, just prior to the Sprong signing, of adding another winger, that Podz might be press boxing not breaking out. Unless of course, they make a deal to trade him for the other need; being a RH center for face offs. |

Joshua/Garland have great chemistry & wouldn’t split them up.
How about something like this?
Joshua Petey Garland
Debrusk JTM Boeser
Heinen Suter Hog
Sherwood Bleuger Sprong
Pod
Petey’s line doesn’t look appealing but Bleuger doesn’t finish enough nor create. |

Tocc got a lot out of Kessel so hopefully he can get more out of Sprong
Solid signing, hopefully he pushes that fourth line |

I think swapping Heinen and DeBrusk might work out too, but overall that looks like a solid lineup |

Moving Joshua up on his own could work but you don’t mess with success. Once he was injured is when Canucks played more like 50/50. Hog tailed off around then. 3rd line if 20g would be great depth. |

Nice pickup.
Cheal value deal for a player that has averaged 20 goals over the last 2 years.
Now a trade needs to happen to open up a forward spot and add to the D.

Doubt RT would like these combos and especially with his RS winger fixation.

I’m sure RT has his own to test in camp & preseason. Simply look into those lines & see what I was trying to effect. |

Really great pickup in Sprong! He's a great guy and he'll probably work his way up.the lineup. His dad's a really great trainer and it shows in Dan. |

More options for third wheels to support the pairs that RT likes.
All 4 of Heinen, Hogs, Sherwood and now Sprong can play up the line up when not in a bottom role. All four can rotate into the top 6 roles as RT sees fit. That also solidifies the center roles for Bluegar/Suter who can forge a solid line with any of those 4 wingers as well as support Garland and Daks’ chemistry.
Pairs plus 3rd wheels looks like:
Hienan/Hogs + JTM & Boeser
DeBrusk&Petey + Sprong/Sherw’d
Dak & Garland + Bluegar/Suter
Transition 4th line:
LW = Hienan/Hogs
C = Bluegar/Suter
RW= Sprong/Sherwood
Spare = Podz subs into any 4 lines
* note Podz needs more development to refine his game. But would get picked up on waivers. He has excellent work ethic and versatile. But is not NHL proven or refined enough to be in a contenders line up. He may only wind up as a bottom 6 NHLer. But like others who found their game under RT coaching and buy in; so could Podkolzin. |

I did look into it as any one line may work because of injury reasons. It’s not how RT operates given a choice. He likes his pairs and 3rd wheels to fill in a need. See my chart above outlying those pairs and 3rd wheels. It’s probably how RT has drawn it up based on his coaching takes. |

He has to know it's time for him to step up, the walls are closing in.
If he doesn't have a strong camp, he'll be injury insurance or shipped out of town. |

Given a choice to operate the lines do you think RT will make some good saves and will he call Sprong ...Spronger?
Please advise and thx...
