Bridge deal 7 to 8 million for 5 to 6 years
Max contract 12 million x 8 this all depends on what player he becomes does he live up to all the hype and becomes one the best players in the league. - Scott1977
I guess the Wild have a their bedard in Faber, becasue he got more than that.

He's so good, and so fast, he plays both

Next July 1 Bedard will be eligible for his next contract. A lot of questions going forward. Will KD sign him early to avoid him being eligible for an offer sheet the summer of 2026? Will Bedard want to sign early or play out the length of his ELC? Bridge or max contract? How many $$$? - boilermaker100
12x5 maybe more if he puts up 90 points this year. After that it'll be whatever the max is by 8. |

If memory serves, he played predominantly center (especially the second half of the year), and his faceoff numbers were actually pretty good. He played some wing at the beginning of the year and a think they moved him around during the WJC - but maybe someone can confirm that? |

I hope they don't go that high unless he puts up like 100+ points this year. He has a lot of potential but I think he'd have to really show up big to get into the top 3-5 paid players in the NHL. |

Yea it was a great signing of a player who wanted to be traded. - BetweenTheDots
A lot can change in 2 years. In the mean time they didn’t give him away. |

I see his bridge deal more like 3-4 years. |

I think he'll follow the Matthews formula to maximize his earnings in his prime years. After his 3 year ELC, a 5 year bridge will take him to 26 years old and free agency. Then he could sign for 4-5 years, then at 30 or 31 years old sign another 5 year deal. Assuming the cap keeps going up his AAV's will go up accordingly.
During his ELC contract, Matthews played 212 games with 111 goals and 94 apples. That earned him a 5 x 11.6M contract. Bedard had 22G and 39A in 68 games last year and with a couple of 80 point seasons he would put up ELC totals comparable to AM. 5 years at 12M isn't far fetched for 98's next contract.

I think he's going to do well just like he did here in Chicago, inheriting a good team.
The Hawks were one playoff loss away from a deep run against the Blues in the 2015-16 season (Keith sat in a game one loss due to a suspension). The Hawks won the West in 2016-17 season and in the next summer lost Panarin, Hossa and Hammer. Keith rapidly declined between those seasons, going from 53 points, plus 22 in 2016 to 32 points, minus 29 in 2017. Seabrook had a decline too although not as steep.
That was an impressive period of success from 2009-2017. Playing What If's, maybe they would have played better under a different coach than JC. Perhaps his greatest failure was not replacing Keith, Seabrook and Hammer when they went out of their prime, but he tried with the Murphy trade, drafting of Jokiharju and Mitchell, drafting of Boquist, Beaudin, signing of deHaan and Maatta, Jones trade and McCabe signing. |

As a Wings fan clearly not a Hawks supporter - but figure you guys would have a laugh…
Oilers folks saying that Ekholm/Bouchard is comparable to Keith/Seabeook!
Team Canadian Top Pair dman calibre HoF stud beauties on the backend - are comparable to those 2 the oilers have.
Insane eh. |

Gotta say that that Blog write up itself, is positively hilarious, not in bad way... I hadn't even realised that Stanbo lost 3 Saad trades already ... and ... ok, I think the blogger was probably right.
Oh well --- the fun is just starting.

Who will want to watch hockey when they ban checking? I'm sure the guy in white was a DEI appointee. That wasn't even a bad hit.

The players seem to want to ban checking. Any time you hit anyone you have to fight to justify the hit. |

A report on Moore at the World Junior Summer Showcase from a writer at FloHockey,
There is so much to like about Oliver Moore’s game. There’s still more for him to put together offensively as he needs to refine his finishing, but he impacts the game in so many ways. His speed is a weapon in more ways than one and his ability to get behind defenders makes him a continual transition threat. He also showed why his speed is an asset on the back check. |
