He won’t honour it.

Because he’s a dishonourable man.

If I could make 3 of you donkeys delete your accounts, I wouldn’t pick you, Billy, or the guy who can’t swim.

I’d grow bored of this place and never return.

A+= Stanley Cup Champ
A = Took it to game 7 in SCF
B+ = Conference Champ
B = Took it to game 7 in CF
C+ = Division Champ
C = Took it to game 7 in DC
D = Win round 1 series
E = made the playoffs
F = didn’t make the playoffs

Winning the draft lottery could be in there somewhere, maybe E+ or even higher depending on the #1 seed, but I’m not going to consider it here.

watching Varsho rob players of hits has been the only fun thing about this season.
trade anyone thats on an exp contract. try to retool/reload for next season.

sign Vlad to a long deal. keep him a Jay.

Not sure what to do with Bo. but leaning towards signing him also.
I haven turned on a jays game in 6 weeks. so sad

I'm not sure why you guys are giving Reaves such low marks for last season.

He did his job perfectly.

When he was on the ice, the opposition weren't taking cheap shots at our best players...

...they were too busy scoring.

I went to the game last night - first time since before COVID.

I have to admit, I had a better time than expected. Even though we had good seats (didn't pay for them!), we ended up wandering around and watching the game from the various bars on the different levels in the outfield.

Having said that, I much prefer watching a game on TV in a backyard - or even having it on the radio.

Fun fact: as you walked out, they were handing out paint brushes. Not cheap paint brushes. We got 2, and then I found another 2 outside. That's like $80!!!

Well first of all Bunting makes $1m less.

Over the past three seasons:

Bertuzzi has played 198 games; Bunting 242
Bertuzzi has 59 goals; Bunting 65
Bertuzzi has 76 assists; Bunting 102
Bertuzzi has 135 points; Bunting 167
Bertuzzi has 107 blocks; Bunting 60
Bertuzzi has 217 hits; Bunting 219
Bertuzzi has 105 takeaways; Bunting 123
Bertuzzi has 133 giveaways; Bunting 108
Bertuzzi has 129 penalty minutes; Bunting 240
Bertuzzi has drawn 59 penalties; Bunting has drawn 115 penalties
So in theory both Bertuzzi and Bunting and -10 minutes in penalties

Bertuzzi does average a higher TOI than Bunting, but if you break down all stats to a per 60 rate Bertuzzi noticeably excels in Blocks and minorly excels in Hits. All other metrics give a nod to Bunting.

You add to the fact that the guys and Bunting were really tight . . . I would have likely kept Bunting over Bertuzzi.

This isn't really a real grading system - because it's more like what we got by value expected.

Like Bertuzzi, I expected a B performance from him and we didn't get that. He was more of a C when you consider that the $5.5m allocated to him could have gone to Bunting, saved us $1m, and Bunting had 19 goals and 55 points compared to Bertuzzi's 21 goals and 43 points.

Going on a hot streak for a month doesn't make him a B+.

Domi maybe was an A- and the minus is only because the guy isn't very good at defense. Keefe refused to give him an elevated role until he had to - but Domi was 2nd among all players in 5v5 A/60 and Primary A/60, and 7th in the league in Pts/60. Every name ahead of Domi in the Pts/60 this year was in the Hart conversation at some point - Crosby, Panarin, Pastrnak, Matthews, Kucherov, MacKinnon and McDavid.

Gregor you almost want to give two grades: He was a A in camp and then a D- the rest of the season. His numbers on Toronto were worse than in San Jose. Of course he was stapled to Kampf all year, who is about as offensive as a bunny smelling a flower.

Still - they chose Gregor or Lafferty and that was a mistake and Gregor never lived up to that bet.

Reaves - I like this guy, but he's nothing but an F. I was a game last year for the first time in forever and I will say that the crowd loves him. He gets the crowd into a game - they cheer on his everything. There's a buzz when he steps on the ice. Unfortunately in the game I saw he was still -1 and despite a fight with Jeannot, Tampa still scored again and we lost 4-1.

I'm going to say that I agree with Rare Jewel on this one - I love who he used to be. He used to plow through guys on the boards and drive the net like a train. That guy hasn't played in the NHL in at least 5 years.

Benoit - it was sort of his grade that made me kind of go, "Uh?". I think he's an A if your expectations were that he was a 7th D-man. His overall play . . .he was probably still a solid C+ or B-. Let's face it, he's a third pairing guy. It's sort of preposterous to give out an A based on 17 minutes of ice time against often lower competition. But I like him and glad they kept him. If Treliving were doing his job, though, Benoit would be a 7th D-man again because we'd have more talent back there.

And then Klingberg and Jones? Klingberg was overpaid, not what we needed, and played 14 games before he was mercifully placed on LTIR so he could get himself healed. If that didn't happen the writing was already on the wall that the fans had turned on this guy in just 14 games. With Jones, he surprised us all by playing 8 decent games out of the 20 he started. That's still another 12 appearances that he wasn't very good in. Look, I get it - he finished with a .902 which was the best he's been since 2017-18, but it's still below league average and he wasn't someone that anyone would have relied on.

So in the end for me - Domi and Benoit really stepped out and excelled. Everyone else wasn't as good as we would have wanted them to be.

I agree with most of this, the outlier for me if the 'should have kept Bunting & saved some money' take.

Bunting was hot garbage in the playoffs for the Leafs year over year & was a suspension risk (due to reputation predominately). It's similar to the Kardi thing, once they had a different jersey on they seemed to get a reputation re-set for whatever reason, sadly.

Is there a breakdown of Domi's numbers when he was in the top 6 vs bottom 6?
