Definitely.

How many games will be needed to properly assess which players can adapt/thrive under Ruff?

- washedup20

Hopefully they already have something that Ruff put together on things he wants worked on in the Offseason and for them to start Camp ready to go

"The instrument was invented in the 18th century, and arrived at its present form in 19th-century India."
It was theorized that the sitar was invented, or rather developed by Amir Khusrow (c. 1253–1325), a famous Sufi inventor, poet and pioneer of Khyal, Tarana and Qawwali, during the 13th century. However, the tradition of Amir Khusrow is considered discredited by scholars.

Landlord Ghandi liked to lay down naked with pre-pubescent girls, but he never touched them inappropriately and he never took advantage of them.

I think its a competition between Zucker and Benson. The spot is there for Benson to take, he needs to display some improvement of last years play. If Benson looks like he's not ready, then Zucker is the safety net. Long shot is Kulich, as he would need to come in and play out of this world to steal the spot. Very long shot is a trade for a player like Farabee.
- BuffaloHerd

That’s not good enough for this roster to make playoffs.

Benson and zucker in 2024 should be on the 3dd line.

I hear you, I've just got a feeling that Adams isn't making a trade unless someone floats him a very good offer (he has to win the next trade).

Perfectly normal stuff. Just like wanting to date your own daughter. Or calling your wife "Mother". All perfectly normal behavior.

wow, video shows how bad she really is

- homiedclown

That video surprised me. I knew she wasn't doing great, but didn't realize it was that bad. Considering she is a year younger than I am, scary stuff.

I honestly can't believe they released this... I mean, when she stops walking, both Sean and Josh had to hold up her shoulder and she looks like she's almost a vegetable... If she is somewhere in there, which I sadly doubt, she's in a shell, being shuffled around because they have the money to keep her constantly supervised and attended to.

Devastating. That was very hard to watch, especially since I had to watch it a few times to fully take it in. It honestly made my whole body hurt to see her like that...

A little different spin on Sabres Goaltending:
I have criticized the Buffalo Sabres a lot, however, in this one insignificant, but seemingly still important move, the Sabres, I believe, made a good, well thought out signing. That is the signing of goaltender James Reimer. I like the player but I like the contract more. Why would I think this?

First, they gave him a one way contact. As you all know, that means that he is paid the same whether he plays in the NHL or AHL. So his one way contract is good because by having it, Reimer might not mind going down to the AHL when he almost inevitably will do during the course of the season in order to allow goalie phenom, Devon Levi, to come up to the NHL. And it just may be that Reimer starts in the AHL in light of Levi's great season in Rochester last year. Reimer, as a player, had a very good year last year as a backup goaltender. That is what he will be if he makes it onto the Sabres next season. It does not look like he would be complaining if he isn't the number one goalie in Buffalo since he has already played that role. If he is still a good NHL backup goalie then it would make sense that he can step into the starting role in Rochester so that the Amerks are not overly impacted by the loss of their all star goalie.

The only thing I did not get was paying Reimer, if I remember correctly, $1M to play in Rochester. Then I thought about it. It does make sense. That is because Reimer is subject to waivers if he is moved down to Rochester.

Since. as we said, the Sabres will almost certainly be placing him on waivers to send him down at some point, that will mean that any team thinking about taking Reimer will have to think twice when they could replace this $1M guy with someone who can make as little as $70,000 in the AHL. Of course the acquiring team can take him for their NHL team. Then the status of his one way contract is irrelevant. That is a risk but his salary seems to make it very unlikely that he would be picked up to go to someone's AHL team.

So if he stays up with the big club, then the Sabres have a good, cheap backup. If he goes to Rochester then they have a good replacement for Levi down with the Americans who won't complaining about not playing in the big leagues.

Wow. I think the Sabres did something intelligent.

Skinner is a non winner

Going to be ugly in here if/when the Sabres miss the playoffs again and Skinner is scoring goals in the conference finals for Edmonton.

the previous two seasons? Summer 22 was figuring out 'who he had' and player development. Summer of 23 was, right or wrong, running it back thinking they'd be fine with the additions of Levi, Clifton and EJ, which holy (frank).
- TheSabresTaco

Categorizing the mindset of doing very little last offseason as right or wrong is most humorous.

You also left out the 22-23 in season approach.

i wont disagree with the squandering, even with the modest chances of a 2nd round pick being a long term NHL player, let alone an impactful one.

this study done in 2020 suggests about 17% to play 100 games

https://dobberprospects.c...draft-pick-probabilities/

So, to get the player they clearly wanted to start reforming the bottom 6, they played the odds. I don't agree with it (the price), but so be it. I won't lose sleep over it until we see what Cole Hutson can do.

- TheSabresTaco

Let's not talk about what other teams were able to get with the 2nd round picks they traded.

If you believe the reports, they still had open offer to Girgs as well.

I think Gerbe gets a little overexcited, but completely believe that they thought they were close on some bigger moves.

- Lunaion

They've supposedly been close to bigger moves for multiple seasons now.

Not closing them should mean a new regime is brought in.

Why should anybody care if they're close, if they can never close?

It would be like me rushing to all my friends every time I meet a new chick, gushing how hot she is and I am going to nail her and then getting friend-zoned and all my friends went around saying I was thiiiiis close to sealing the deal but at the last minute I bought sheepskin condoms and she prefers latex.

And then I find out and openly address it and just say yeah well we talked about banging but the timing just wasn't right. And then I pat myself on the back. And this happens every couple few months. And someone hires me as a relationship consultant.
