I don't know anything about her condition, but some medical events can cause brain cognitive impairment while others can affect the motor function regions of the brain, along with a combination of both. I guess what I'm saying is that one can't always judge another's mental capacity by just observing their physical motor skills.

Every family treats things differently, the Doctors could want her doing things like this because of the effects on her Brain. They say she has Memory Issues, maybe being there helps her remember some of what she lost.
