There's more to being a 1st liner than goals. Nick Paul had the same stat line, Zetterlund was very similar...those guys aren't top line talents either I'm sure we'd agree.

What's best case scenario for them?

Selling off Greenway in favor of Kulich? Or selling off Greenway(+) for a guy like Farabee, who puts up 50-60 points right now. Then what do you have next year?

Farabee likely comes in as the 2LW but eventually may get passed by one of prospects and becomes a trade candidate in a couple years. I think a RD is a bigger need and Greenway + a LD could be used to obtained that. If we could get a good 2nd pair RD, then I'm OK with Benson/Zucker competing for the 2LW spot and having Rosen and/or Kulich getting NHL time on the 3rd line this year.

I don't either, especially considering Farabee is a guy torts doesn't like (like granato didn't like oloffson) adn farabee is a year removed from experimental spoinal surgery where he went around 30 games without a goal afterwards. If you want to boost your top 6 don't trade for a guy who legitimately could be worse than what are system has (Kulich), go for a guy that is a no doubt top 6 - Konectny, Ehlers, Zegras.

I can agree with that. I just don't think it means Skinner was top line material. His puck control and passing is just not good enough any more. He's one of the best in the league with the puck on his stick below the hashes. He's a big loss. But can also see the other side of the coin there as all.

That was the ask I guess. Similar rumors popped up around the same time, but I am a little surprised he came in under 9M after that. Figured Philly was stuck paying him or moving him on the cheap due to that ask. Someone would've coughed up an extra mil if he really pushed it I'd wager.

I think Farabee's value is close to that of Samuelsson. Buff36 has mentioned Attard (RD that is at the point of being in the NHL). So since we have extra forwards, I proposed Samuelsson + Krebs for Farabee + Attard. Question mark is what will Attard be a 3rd pair ceiling or an eventual 2nd pair RD. I'm pretty sure Flyers would like another center (so Krebs might need to be part of the deal), and I've heard they like both Krebs and Samuelsson.

I think that is what is frustrating half of the base on this board

but once again this summer we are trying to get that 7th or 8th seed again this spring instead of aiming the bar higher and trying to compete for a cup and once again in a cap era leaving all that cap space on the table

I think that about sums it up.
If they want to preach that everyone buys in and plays just as hard without the puck as they do with it, Skinner doesn’t seem to be a player that you’d want in that lineup. I think that’s why grind ‘amour wanted him out of Carolina.
