I'm trying. The trade probably did make it worse and that's unfair. That being said, those traits are normally bottom6 traits. His production indicates a 4th line role. We basically need the production to start coming, not just opportunities. Time will tell.

Still don't think it should stop us from signing someone who can compete with him for minutes. Think TB does that in pretty short order.

I'm curious, if the McLeod for Savioe trade is so horrendous because Savioe is worth more than a 3rd line center, which one of the current Sabres top six would have equal value in a trade for Savioe (i.e., Peterka, Tage, tuch, Quinn, Cozens, or Benson)? I'm never trading an established top six NHL player (that's not over-the-hill) for a prospect that may turn into a top six NHLer. Maybe a team with cap issues does that trade because the 2nd line player has a bad contract (i.e., Skinner type). To get a top six player like Necas or Zegras, then at a minimum its Benson, Savioe, and a 1st. Now I understand the complaint that we should have packaged him to get a top six player, but Savioe by himself only gets you a young established 3rd line NHL player IMO.

Bills QB Josh Allen with trainers getting his right ankle taped up. Same ankle he had looked at yesterday during practice. He was fine yesterday and is back in the huddle. Didn’t miss any reps but something to keep an eye on.

I can take a joke, but in that fateful thread, you called me out as a "slumlord" without any reason, any backup or context. I then nicely told my story about my actual landlord experience, renting to 5 WOMEN aged 19-22 (who are still friends of ours btw... I never once took advantage of them or even kissed any of them.) and how I met my wife who was 22 at the time. I made a joke about "goo times" of being single and living in a house with 6 awesome young women.

Then you have the stones to call me a groomer, a rapey pedo? If you were a journalist, I'd be suing you for libel. If we meet in person, I'd punch you in the balls. On a hockey board, I point out how you can't take a joke and you prove my point exactly by calling me a pedo again. What the actual Frank is wrong with you? Like reallllly wrong with you?

Never mind, it's a rhetorical question (look it up).

I just can't imagine Lindy wanting Laine. He'd probably prefer Benson or Zucker in the top-6 tbh
- Hank Balling

buying out skinner and adding laine would be so bad on many levels

Gotten a legit 3C? I think they expect him to be one this year.

Can't argue the first part, you're right.

But why is acquiring a lower cost player to compete for the same job a bad thing? Because it may end up making the higher cost trade look worse? Bordeleau is still a relatively unknown commodity. He's had some success in the AHL, looks ready to make the jump, but shows a lot of promise. I don't see why, especially given the fact TB can switch to wing, he wouldn't be a good insurance policy.

- QuinnFan

Well like I said earlier. I would absolutely take a shot on him. He doesn't have the skill set the Sabres want to play that specific position.

I want him here to challenge Krebs. And personally I'd like to use Krebs to get someone else, TB or otherwise. But if I'm using Krebs, I'd like someone here at the end of the day that can play bottom 9 center.

A great moment at the end of #Bills Day 3 at training camp, as owner Kim Pegula helped break the team down during the post-practice huddle. Kim was accompanied by her husband, Terry #BillsMafia

Sure. Closest guy who can play that role is probably Wahlberg and that's two years out.

So if you want to win, you make trades like this one, using future or recent 1st round picks.

- TheSabresTaco

What was Adams honestly thinking the last two years then?

before this season, krebs shooting percentage was close to 13 percent with the sabres for 122 nhl games

if he reverts back to those numbers is he still dog crap?

The guy shoots less than a shot per game over his career. He's bad on special teams, has never showed out when the time came.

Time to move on from Peyton imo

what is your realistic expectations for a center playing with girgensosn, robinson and okposo?

2nd line: Matt Moulson- Zemgus Girgensons- Sam Reinhart

This line has a combination of youth, experience, physicality, playmaking, and sniping. A well balanced line. However, putting a 19 and 21 year old on a top two line is risky.

For this line I would have Sam Reinhart playing on the right wing. After watching him at development camp, I think he’s ready for a top six role. The things he needed to improve upon like skating and strength, were evidently better than last years camp. Reinhart was built with muscle, faster, and stronger on his skates than last year. His stick handling and hockey sense were still off the charts at camp. Putting him with a veteran in Matt Moulson, and a very mature, hard working Zemgus Girgensons allows him to ease into a top six role. Let Girgensons worry about the defensive responsibilities for a while.

Jan 29, 2015; Edmonton, Alberta, CAN; Buffalo Sabres center Zemgus Girgensons (28) gets through the check by Edmonton Oilers center Boyd Gordon (27) in the second period up at Rexall Place. Mandatory Credit: Chris LaFrance-USA TODAY Sports

Girgensons is a good second line center at this point in his career. Like O’Reilly he is responsible at both ends of the ice, and willing to go to the dirty areas. He has the talent to be a finisher as well as a playmaker for his wingers. He does everything well. Girgensons will be the fastest skater on this line. While Reinhart’s speed has improved, both wingers lack speed. This could cause a problem for Zemgus when he fly’s up the ice with the puck.

Feb 15, 2015; Buffalo, NY, USA; Buffalo Sabres left wing Matt Moulson (26) takes a shot as Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Mark Streit (32) defends during the second period at First Niagara Center. Mandatory Credit: Kevin Hoffman-USA TODAY Sports

Matt Moulson is the veteran presence. He’s the calm, cool and collected vet that can help settle down the kids. Moulson is very good in front of and around the net, so he can allow Reinhart to play on the perimeter more often. He also has a very good shot, and would likely have the most goals on the line.

I agree with that, who would you want his linemates to be this season, and what would be your expectations for production?

if the rumor that mcleod may be playing wing on the top 6 is legit

zucker-krebs-kulich/benson

this would mean a probably quinn injury and greenway buried on the 4th line

I do not see a path for this though

They certainly are very high on him.
Shouldn't be be a 1C by now having been drafted 1 slot before Savoie and racking up 15 minutes of NHL playing time... 3.5X that of Matt.
He's a complete bust.
