fighting to keep their spot on a bottom third (to be polite) team....

sure but in the context of a rebuild being a "bottom third" team doesn't really mean anything, it's technically where you're supposed to be, it doesn't mean that the roster is void of talent to compete with.

As you said, there are 2 spots (one in the top 6 D and the other as a 7th D) available. I can't see how Mailloux and Reinbacher make the jump without forcing a trade and that's on the right side where they need help

Baron and the Sheriff are not going down (not waiver exempt).

so 3 of Hutson, Struble, Mailloux, Reinbacher and Engstrom are going down to Laval

- Symba007

wrong, Xhekaj doesn't have to go through waivers.

But still quite young... a team lacking depth could certainly be interested as they both proved they can somewhat hold their own in the NHL already, especially Harris.

Barron needs a strong camp and start as a regular... otherwise I think Mailloux or Reinbacher pushes him out.

- Scabeh

curious to se Reinbacher. wouldn't be surprised to see him jump ahead of Barron and Mailloux.

there is a path where they keep everyone and don't have to trade anyone until the offer makes sense. Those exempt from waiver....hello Laval

This is your most likely path forward.

they're at best 3rd pairing dmen. at best. and that is on a weak team, rebuild or not. on a contender they're in the pressbox.

meh, I always find you tend to lack patience when it comes to young players and label them a bit too quickly with having zero value.

good blog. Is it me or you read some of my comments on the matter?

I think assets management will win.

I don't recall specifically but since we talk about hockey all the time, it's possible I got some of my thoughts from you and other sources.

depends on the player!! I'll be extremelly patient with wifi, or Struble, or Mailloux, or Reinbacher....
to me Harris brings nothing. he has no high end quality. not bad, but not excellent. average.
Barron has some offense but he's a poodlle, we need rottweilers.

you need to just let it happen naturally. when it's ready it will bloom into a beautiful flower of the written word.

I did mention the other day the d pairings and who would have to be waived. You even gave me the site with the info.

The rest in Laval. Wifi needs a good camp, he does not have to be waived.

sure, but as Scabeh was saying, since we talk specifically habs hockey here regularly, we're bound at some point to have a few ideas and opinions in common.
