The 3rd is Colorado's pick and the 1st is Vegas'; if the Vegas 1st is in the top-10, San Jose has the choice to trade their 1st or Vegas' pick.

I suppose Nashville views it as getting Edstrom (a 1st already), a pick in the top-20 and a pick in the top 120 - which effectively surpasses the value of Askarov.

So much for Nashville demanding a top 5 pick for him.

They essentially got two firsts for him, not bad.

Not at all, but not a top 5.

Me. I loved that show so much when I was a kid. Being about 9-11 years old and watching a show where relatively main characters _died_ was astonishing and shocking.

It was one of my first doses of quality Japanese animation. Compared to the Looney Tunes I was raised on, it was like an alien world. No offense to Looney Tunes because I love them, but seeing something like Starblazers was eye opening for a budding sci-fi geek. And yes, the outlook in those cartoons was somewhat bleak and the universe they existed in was a harsh one. It was a stark contrast to the slapstick silliness of traditional saturday morning fare.

Flash forward several years and I watched a VHS copy of the original Japanese Akira - no subtitles and no dubbing. I had no idea what the plot was, but the visuals were amazing.

Don’t blame ya! Had a couple earlier to finish off what was here.. it’s the gf’s work weekend and my b day is on Friday the 30th so we’re kinda holding off this weekend… and by that I mean I’ve had 3 shots of whiskey and I’m about to smoke my pipe… and the beer store isn’t too far away at all so I may be going for another stroll (currently at 20.6km today)… that’s my definition of being on pause lol
