Prospect #21, Ivan Kutchakokoff

Kutchakokoff was selected with the middle of the Leafs three seventh-round picks at the 2024 NHL Draft in Las Vegas. The Miami, FL native struggled in his first season with the ZHL’s Scranton Manly Men, with 1 assist in 333 games, but made some strides in his draft year, almost scoring a goal once in 349 games with the Manly Men before being dealt to Toronto Fords, where he posted impressive numbers (0 goals in 94 games).

The Elite Prospects Draft Guide describes the 7’2”, 297 lb. winger as a player with great mass and endless momentum. Once moving, he can only be stopped by the boards or if he falls on his face.

“Kutchakokoff doesn’t stop. He skates hard after every puck, collides with every opponent, and battles not to fall over his own two feet…..To unlock more of the skill game, he will need to be reborn into a different body to improve. He’s an upright, Frankenstein-like skater without any speed or ability to turn, and his hands consistently drop his stick whenever the puck touches it. He enjoys the rough stuff and has been known to mindlessly pummel his opponent into a fine meat paste.”
