Priority of release target dates vs quality/proper testing is killing a lot of things. Take the initial money and run to the next release date, quality is secondary for some of these titles.

Some of these developers are stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Complexity (game code) keeps increasing and takes longer to produce, they also need revenues to keep the lights on.

Result ... ship it now and we'll fix it after release.

Not ideal as customers get a buggy product on release and it kills a game's reputation (and sales). Catch 22.
