Making Foligno captain was the best and smartest move for the Hawks to make. A no-brainer.

The Russian team used to be in a similar series against the CHL teams but because of the attack on Ukraine no one is inviting any Russian athletes. And as I had mentioned to you before there are negotiations to include the the top USHL team to play for the Memorial cup at the end of the junior season.

Not sure it’s just politics. Logistic problems. Concerns with how crowds will react. Sure some of those kids would love not to go back to Russia, where the threat of a full mobilization draft is a very real thing.

I wonder if they’ll try and move AA, or keep around as top six depth in case of injuries, or does Nazar make AA expandable? If so, the Hawks will have to retain salary, nobody is taking on that $4M contract.

I was wondering if maybe CBJ makes sense for AA? I thought I heard they are probably looking for another forward and need some cap hit too because of the tragedy that happened. Or maybe they are over the floor now? I haven't checked, but I hope he either plays much better this year or doesn't see more than 4th line minutes.
