Glad hes healthy and he's much cheaper now. When he was healthy is first year with the leafs, he did play well. Imo.

Question: why does every coach want to force Nylander to centre? With the elite vision and being defensively superior, is Marner not the obvious candidate for that?

Why not push Marner to centre and leave Willy with Matthews. 🤔

Easy answer would be that Nylander has had more success at C than Marner. People forget that Nylander was MVP of the World Championships as a C. He's also a better bet to win faceoffs.

Willy is a career 51% on facoffs while Marner is 45%. Willy has also taken way more faceoffs. It's a huge difference. Marner, while very creative, is far too small and weak to be a good C.

It has nothing to do with "forcing Nylander to C over Marner"

I'm sorry...do you NOT remember when the media reported they tried Marner as a 1RHD? A near 100p winger as a (frank)ing defenseman? Coaches will try anything in camp to see if it works. Nylander at centre for the 18th time is just the same garbage, it might last 10 games or maybe it's a hit!? Remember Burke saying JVR was a natural centre because he played it in junior...turned out his last time as a centre was when he was 14...it's (frank)ing click bait.
