I'm surprised that no team in the NHL would take on Tony DeAngelo. He just signed in Russia. A 28 year old right shooting D-man with decent career numbers. Surprising.
I know he's had personality issues and has used derogatory language, but those indiscretions didn't seem extreme enough to make NHL teams pass on a serviceable D-man. Maybe he's done something I'm not aware of...
Hell, if guys who facilitate rape of players are awarded jobs in the NHL, what's the big deal with someone who blurts out the 'N-word' once in a while? |

Maybe there were only a couple teams willing to put up with his BS and he's worn out his welcome with all of them by being a complete tire fire defensively. |

Exactly.
I did read an article that Calgary was kicking that tire but nothing came of it. |

Leki will make the day 1 roster. If he actually suits up or not is another story. Book it |

I believe his contract is slide eligible, so you thinking 9 games and then down to the 'A'?
Interestingly, signing bonuses are paid each year even if the contract slides. As contracts slide the annual cap hit is calculated as an average of remaining salary due over the actual contract length.
Yearly Cap Hit = (Contract Value - Signing Bonuses Paid) / Original Contract Length
So even if JL does not play a game, a portion of his salary goes against the cap this season as he has signing bonuses. Did not know that.
Either way, I think they should let him play a full season in the 'A' to get used to the NA game.

Signing bonus is only $95k it’s the performance bonuses as it applies to this years cap & the capolgy that comes into play. He’ll be papered in then sent down unless he forces his way onto the roster. Yes I think a full season in the A is best as well. |

Beyond this seasons cap there is the OEL $2.45m buyout increase coming for next season & the following year. Last JB bill comes due. |

That may happen. We have no timeline. Though Demko is a push hard competitor so he will be wanting to come back sooner then later. How the Canucks manage that is yet to be played out. May also depend on what Silovs and Lakenin do filling in. - Quinn's Quest
Excellent insight thanks much NFU wow. Do you think Coach Tock will call Desharnais 'Vinny D' like maybe a little Italiano?? huh?? fogget about it.... |

lol honestly dude we saw them (Maiden) last summer in EDM and they were tighter than ever as a band. All notes were hit and even D*ickenson still has most of his vocal ranges. This new tour looks to be even better with a killer setlist(s). Can't wait. Gonna be a damn shame when these epic metal bands close up shop as there is literally no one up and coming to replace them. |

I think it's more than $2.45m for OEL. Or are you talking $2.45m over the amount we are paying this season (which is $2.34m)?
25/26 - $4,766,667
26/27 - $4,766,667
27/28 - $2,126,667
The 25/26 retained is $5,479,167 due to Mikheyev's chunk. That sucks.

The added cap hit over the current BO cost that will get paid from next seasons cap increase. Leaving more cap gymnastics for PA on resignings etc. |

I was reading the other day that if Lekker hits some of it's bonuses this season, the cap hits could be a problem next season and that may work against him making the team regardless if he looks ready in camp.
My guess is that he'd have to be outstanding in camp to force them to deal with it. |

I doubt he's ready. There's also enough depth on the wing to let the kid fully develop his game in the A. |
