I disagree. My logical brain would say "if they can't compete against non NHLers, what the hell are they gonna do against true NHL players". I mean, no one is anointing them the next ones, but it's something to be positive about in my eyes and beats the alternative.

It’s one game a month before the season starts. It means absolutely nothing. You’re going to gauge their compete in the pre season , what about the entire season they just played? You saw them compete against NHL players. Beyond dumb take. It’s one game

Not sure how theres nothing positive to take from the game. Flyers had 8 players that will probably be on the Roster(That includes Rookie Michkov) to Washington's 5(Based off the little knowledge I have of their team). Obviously you take the game with a grain of salt but it is still promising that guys who allegedly suck according to many did well.

Many believed Brink would be an odd man out as well.

Something like that. I do feel like a ton of teams underperformed last season and a number of teams improved this offseason specifically in the East. They most likely will be a non playoff team from the jump. On paper are they better than anyone in the metro besides Columbus

Also, speed has not been his forte ever. But he knows how to slow the game down to his speed.

I thought Michkov's abiity to protect the puck along the boards was very good. Kind of suprising strong considering his age. Brink has always displayed good hands. He did look quicker, which is a very good sign. I liked what I saw from Gill. No doubt he is going back to junior. A lot of tools, let's hope he can refine his game over the next few years.

With this org, my philosophy when someone is not in the lineup when expected to be is to check the morgue..

Bjarnason looked really good…besides any goalie will tell you the post is part of their equipment.

I thought he looked good. He wasn't peppered, but I was able to see that he's likely nhl size and moves pretty well for a big guy.

I know I should feel shame (hahah) for watching a preseason game and enjoying all six of the flyers goals (even though it wasn't A lineups), but it was also good to see hockey again and to see how MM looked in a game.

Not sure if he will get that opp considering how young he is, but I think we are seeing why the Flyers like him so much. That kid's gonna be a player and he def has 1C potential. Kinda seems like a faster version of Brindy. His speed is gonna be a game changer.

just to clarify - the caps dressed at least 8 regulars as they are mandated to do so by the nhl since they are at home. Also, they have two or three very good prospects which dressed. I agree it was not their best lineup or even close, but maybe we just have a few players all between the ages of 18 and 25 that can actually play.. its ok to admit that.
