By who? All that matters is what the Flyers think his potential is, and they believe he can be a top center. You also have to consider that those who rated Jett did so based on the first half of last season. He will go back to Guelph and play tons of minutes in all situations and have a monster year. You can already see in training camp and in the scrimmage and pre-season game yesterday this kid has the ability to be special. I loved what I saw in yesterday's game where he used his speed to generate some really nice scoring chances.

You keep posting this as if it will be some kind of revelation. Luchanko was drafted at 17. It is expected that he will have a significant increase in his D+1 season. Most high drafted forwards that go back to juniors, do the same thing. That is not in itself going to increase his potential. The consensus that I have seen to this point of Luchanko is in the 2C range. Let me know when he shows something against regular full NHL teams that shows he has the ability to special. The Flyers are not exactly draft savants. Fans regularly overhype prospects. Expectations should be tempered.

Sure it does. You mentioned the "experts." Unless you are talking about the front offices of other teams, I don't buy it.

Assessing a players strengths, weaknesses and future potential is a different animal.

I'm just saying that after another year at Geulph, Luchanko might be projected to be a 1C or 2C. I am only repeating the D+1 only because you keep repeating what his projection was last year. Not sure if you got to watch the scrimmage. I watched it and Luchanko looked the same against predominantly NHL players. Granted its a scrimmage but it certainly seemed to me the players were playing hard and wanted to win even that. Luchanko for his age has been very impressive to me so far. But I agree, he's still a teenager so expectations must be tempered.

Any player can improve and players can surpass their projections. The people who are really good at this are able to project what a players future potential is. He is not projected to be a 1C player. Doesn't mean he won't be but that is not what his potential is. A big D+1 season is not a guarantee to change that projection. Again, it is expected. You watching the scrimmage or anything is irrelevant. Doesn't factor in. I believe that Luchanko is going to be a good player in the future for the Flyers. To this point, I have not seen any information that suggests that he will be more than that. Time will tell. Scrimmages can't and won't show something like that. Neither can early pre-season games.

They were Caps announcers doing the game on NHL Network. Their team got curb stomped! Of course they said that.

I am saying it is doubtful he put on 18 pounds of muscle. He has off season surgery. Had to rehab said surgery. Then found time to add 18 pounds of muscle. sure why not.
