If he come in next year and looks stronger with more weight on and shows he can handle games vs something closer to real nhl rosters, then consider it. I see no shame in him not starting with the big club a couple years from now.

Interesting that we signed that tender makiniemi. This really closes the door on kolosov this season I would think and the terrible play of Petersen really forced their hand I’d say. All that kolosov had to do was come in, start in the an and wait for an injury with feds or sam and he’d have gotten his shot. Really blew it imo.

And Bedard isn't Luchanko. Luchanko is apparently a gym rat and he scored among the highest in many fitness tests. The next Brindy is upon us!!

I think it’s still too early in camp….he’s played “one” game lol. Let’s let it play out. If the kid earns a longer look ….so be it. I still think he will be returned to Guelph. Physically he’s closer to handling it than most “just turned 18 year olds” but I also think mentally although appearing to be a mature kid is a tough sell. Let him eventually make his way back to Jr and hopefully have another outstanding season. I will say after watching a few of his games I’ve figured out why scouts scout and guys like me female dog and moan about their choices…I think they got a good one.

Yeah, I agree. I'm just going a bit over the top to get a rise out of a few folks on here. I see no harm in keeping him for a 9 game trial just to get his feet wet, but I also would have no problem if they send him back to junior tomorrow. I'm just happy that he may have actually been a legit pick that can fill a need that this team badly needs!

They don’t have to terminate at all….toll his contract (while not paying him obviously) and he remains an asset. There is no limit to how long they actually will hold his rights. That’s what is puzzling about this. The kid has “zero” leverage to play in the NHL without the Flyers having all the control.

As far as Bedard is concerned. His ability to make plays and put up points at the NHL level. Almost a point per game player on a bad team, as an 18 year old, is enough to overcome any issues with not being physically mature. Luchanko does not possess that same ability as an 18 year old in my opinion. It's not a deflection. It's simply assuming that the above concerning Bedard, did not need to be explained. I guess I got that wrong.

I don't think it had anything to do with the experience. Kolosov clearly does not want to play in the AHL and ride buses. He wants a direct ticket to the NHL. Well, it does not work that way and honestly he should know better as a goalie.
