I think Torts showed what he expects from him last year, I don’t think he gets benched again unless he starts playing like complete dogpoop.

Brink on the other hand I think has a lot work to prove to stay in the lineup. Good so far in preseason, but time will tell.

Cates with a cap hit of 2.6 million. Seems rather high for a 4th line forward. Flyers have the market cornered on expensive 4th line players-Deslaurias, Hathaway, and Laughton have multi years left on their contracts. Cates needs to prove he can stick on a 3rd line.

Brink got a raw deal from Tortorella last year in my opinion. Should be in the top 9.

Why don't you think Tippett is a good fit on the line? A 30 goal scorer playing with a player with elite passing skill in Michkov and a good playmaker in Frost. I had questions about Frost and Michkov playing together but they looked good tonight.

I believe Farabee plays better then Tippett around the net. I would like to see the 3rd fwd with Michkov and Frost with that ability. TK and Tippett were good together, and both need to be 30 goal scorers. I expect all the wingers get a shot with Michkov throughout the year.

If Frost and Michkov, both probably the Flyers best two pure passers and set up players are going to play together. The 3rd forward on that line needs to be a shooter.

I believe we'll see Michkov shoot a lot more as he grows comfortable. That's why I believe a forward playing around the net would fit better, but I could be proven wrong. It will be interesting how it plays out.

Sure looks like they plan to run the PP with Michkov on the right half boards and I would assume Drysdale at the point. Fine with that foundation for PP1.

Could've easily had two goals tonight. A little sharper later on and he probably pots them. He's going to be a star.

But wait, you told me that there is a huge difference between the preseason and regular season after I said the kid sees the ice at a superior level? Sometimes I believe you say things just to spite me.

You need to preface this with the idea that anyone is actually listening to MJL.

They aren’t.

I guess I have to explain this also. In pre-season play, you can see the raw talent a player has. Such as Michkov's ability to see the ice and pass the puck. He is NHL ready. However in Luchanko's situation, you can also see the talent he has but he is not NHL ready. He does not look like he belongs in the NHL to me. The kid is going to be a good player for this team but he needs to go back to juniors in my opinion.

agree rather joel there as tippet to me lacks hockey sense. takes a lot of bad shots.

in time MM will still need a real #1 legit center. seems like all the scoring chances come from MM
