Andrea is definately ready. Ginning started out well in the game but as the game went on and the Islanders applied more and more pressure, Ginning made some bad decisions. Grans was solid, but just doesn't do enough for me to be excited about him.

Ok Alexei, get your ass on the ice and make it a hard decision.

If true this is a completely ridiculous, and I were Briere I would tell him to sit and rot in Belerus. Really? This is what its coming to? "Ok, I'll come over and play just as long as I'm in the NHL by Christmas!" I would say EEEEFFFFFFFF YOU!

Two of the biggest areas that Luchanko has to work on is getting stronger on his skates when carrying the puck. When skating at full speed, the knock on him has been that he is easily knocked off the puck. The other is carrying and making plays with the puck more consistently at his highest skating speed. Using his speed more effectively. In my opinion, he has to develop that back in juniors, not in the NHL. He's going to be a good player for the Flyers in my opinion.
- MJL

agree, he needs to learn how to use his body to stay stable when hit, needs to learn how to slow down from full speed to slow the play down in the O zone, to maintain puck control, without it, his shot and even his passes at the NHL level won't be a strength

It is a businbess and you take peoples decisions too personally. Flyers and Kolosov found a compromise that benefits both. He comes over and they get to work with him and develop him as they wanted and if he doesnt get time with PHI he can go back later on. Maybe his view changes over time and he no longer hates being in Allentown.

You cant just toss away every prospect that rubs you the wrong way. Gauthier was different. There was no way fopr the Flyers to reconsile or compromise. He would noit speak to the team.

I don’t think anyone disagrees with this. Let him have a chance to go dominate and build his confidence back in Guelph. I must admit it’s nice to see him come in and actually be in the discussion for the team. He’s further along than I thought and I’m sure the Flyers thought.
- landros 2

yea he has done nothing but raise his stock, and give SOME creditability to the pick. If he continues to improve and Drysdale can continue to look like he did in his last game (stay healthy), then DB has hit on the pick. IFFFFFFFFFFFF

Id say he improved. He was pretty bad last year. Looks decent this preseason. Overall I dont think he is an NHL player though/ Still only 22 years old. Still time to prove people wrong.

Andrae and Ginning need a longer look.

I think you might need to work on your player evaluations 😂

I thought Grans was pretty steady myself last night. I thought Ginning started well and than played himself into trouble a couple times.

I agree we have to slow our roll on this. He has looked good, but it is preseason and he hasn't really played any games against NHL regulars who are playing at regular season level. If they give him a 9 game look its not the end of the world. IMO it wouldn't even last 9 games.

I still think the best course of action is to send him back to juniors with a much clearer view of what he needs to do to become an NHL player.

- MBFlyerfan

Agree but I would give him a 9 game look, so he can know what to fully expect

Why would they give him a 9 game look? How does that benefit the player
- ClaudeFather

Are you serious how doesn't it benefit him, getting actual experience of a season game, playing against harder competition.

Very little discussion about Ersson today. If he plays like a capable #1 goalie and the team gets just average backup goalie play- doubtful they pick in the top 10. Bittersweet potentially.

I don't want him to slow down. I want him to learn to make plays offensively with more pace and to use his elite skating ability more. Not that there won't be times to slow the play down but overall, he needs to play more at his top end speed.

Rangers season depends on

IF Zibanejad can bounces back
If Lafreniere can breakout further
If Kaako can break out

NJ's season Depends on

If NJ's Goaltending can hold
If Dougie Hamilton can stay healty
If J. Hughes can stay healthy
If Timo Meier will bounce back

Buffalo's Season depends on

If Thompson can bounce back
If Quinn, Peterka and Benson can provide top 6 scoring
If UPL can perform like he did at the end of the season more consitently

Carolina's season depends on

If Andersen can stay healthy,
If the defense can hold with the loss of Pesce
If Necas steps up
If Jarvis has a repeat season
If old Man Burns doesnt get worse

WSH season depends on

If PLD decides to play for WSH they could be good
If Ovi's Body holds up at 39 and continue to play at a high level
If Lindgren can prove he is a starting goalie for more than just 1 season

I can go on with all the teams. Every team has question marks.

That is not a legitimate reason to give a player a 9 game look in my opinion.

Not all ifs are created equal. There is a difference between players who have done it before and had a subpar season versus players who have never done it.

He is getting enough of a sample of the NHL in camp and pre-season. Any experience he gets by playing a handful of NHL games, is not going to matter much. It has a chance of doing more harm than good.

A 9 game tryout should be used when the player is on the bubble of making the team or not making it. Any other use of a 9 game tryout for any other reasons. Such as reward or giving him a small sample of experience, should not be used.

Lol says who, the only reason why teams shy away from a 9 game look is because some players get upset from not making the team and have a few weeks of them not being themselves.

Experience is Experience and playing at a higher level where time and space is even less, can really show the player and team a better veiw on the player strengths and areas that need work

Didn't you say it yesterday that there a difference between preseason and regular season( which you are fully correct) but a taste could prove beneficial even if not noticeable

Speaking of laughter, you ask me to explain my position and when I do, you then reply with LOL says who. I'll do the same with your position here, which is wrong, say who? Teams shy away from using a 9 game tryout because they don't want to jerk young players around. The more stable a players assignment is, the better it is for development of a young player. A young player who is not ready for the NHL, who is thrust into the NHL, can be overwhelmed and it can damage his confidence and mental outlook and set a player back.

Experience is Experience and playing at a higher level where time and space is even less, can really show the player and team a better veiw on there play.

- SINISTER

The player has already gotten that view in pre-season and in camp. As has the team. Remember, if he's just getting a 9 game tryout, that means that his play has not been at the level where the team feels he is fully ready for the NHL.

Didn't you say it yesterday that there a difference between preseason and regular season( which you are fully correct) but a taste could prove beneficial even if not noticeable

- SINISTER

I sure did but that does not support giving an 18 year old player a 9 game tryout.
