Really no need. UPL and Levi is a good tandem moving forward and, if they play their cards right, it could cost only a couple million more for them combined.

IF a trade would occur, you'd probably see it be UPL, RyJo and a 2nd, or something to that affect.

Around the league, the ask would have to include a goalie going back the other way with some decent additions as he's one of the bright star, young goalies today.

It wouldn't surprise me especially since adams followed that up by making him go to the prospect challenge.. then gets hurt there

I think he's an NHLer but with no shortage of puck moving LD Johnson clearly isn't in the plan here. He should have been traded long ago. Its just straight incompetence one mismanagement after another with adams

Yes I am not trying to be rude to you, I know what there pairs are now. I want to see how they look in game action the Top 4 they have at this point. How they adapt in Lindy's system, really haven't gotten to see anything yet. Maybe should have said after a few games and see what they look like.

There's a debate to be had but I don't think UPL is that far off of Swayman tbh. His sv% was .006 better than UPL's on a much better defensive team. GA/G is only .04 different. If UPL regresses and Swayman does better, you can win there, but you'd need better production from Swayman for us than he got on the Bruins and the reciprocal for UPL, for that money to be worth it.

Fwiw, Halak did get a lower sv% and higher GAA after leaving Boston, it just wasn't a crazy drop off. He also went to Boston after a down year on the Island and regained form for a couple years (at 33 years of age).

For the most part, Boston's system does historically get the most out of tenders. That being said, their rein of supremacy may be over...so who knows.

Think we all know the UPL story. I've defended and poked at him at times. He had a good half season, but that's all he has to hang his hat on in the last 4 seasons. Swayman has been stellar at every step. I think he's a much safer bet. At that cheap of a trade cost, I wouldn't even hesitate.

On the topic, what are reasonable UPL expectations this year? 10 GSAA last year. Is that a fair expectation, or are you expecting better? I think Levi is going to play well enough to take time away from him.
