I agree with this. OEL seems an awful lot like Gardiner, Barrie, Klingberg etc... been there done that, never seems to work. Remember how fans reacted to L. Murphy back in the day? Leafs fans can't stand defensemen that can't play defence.

I haven’t seen enough to form an opinion about his preseason play but I thought he was very good in the playoffs.

Was reading that Leafs are using a different D-zone system where they are much more aggressive in pursuing the puck carrier. It requires to be much quicker in reading plays and moving.

Marner yelling that way in playoffs then going to bench throwing gloves and acting like a Jr player is an issue. It’s an issue when anyone does it. Just don’t see it much. Everyone saw Mitchy do it - embarrassing.

Teammates get heated a lot on bench that’s hockey - put the only one who carried themselves like a baby-mitchy was Marner. Even Bert was shocked at it - not a good look. Embarrassing. He’ seems like a fairly smart kid, I’m sure he’s embarrassed by the tantrum as well. He’s better than that.
