Hope so, Slaf is great at getting and protecting the puck but Caufield and Suzuki seem to lose it way too easily (so far).

One of the things I noticed at the end of last year, when Slaf became a real option to produce, Suzuki seems to focus on him more in helping move the puck (likely size / puck protection). This seems to have continued into the new season.

CC seems more like a last option, as in setting himself up to get the pass to put the puck in the net, where Suziki and Slaf are the ones controlling/moving the play.

I agree that Suzuki and Slaf were the play drivers of that line last season.

We have yet to see much of that after 2 games. They still got time but we all kinda hoped they would look better than they did.

They've also been matched against the other team's top line in both games and in both cases, they were outmatched.

I think Cole looks just fine, but he once again suffers from being "the obvious target" on the powerplay. And yet he still scored 2.

I thought the last goal was Barron's slide/stick that sent it in the net, turns out it was Primeau's stick.

There's at least 3 goals yesterday that could be solved with overall better technique.

Also, that one goal by Kastelic (I think) that went bar down, not sure any goalie stops that one.

He made some nice saves, but ultimately, was not good enough.

it sucks because we've seen how Primeau can play when he's confident and focused, he does have a solid technique but he's struggling to apply it consistently. we'll see how this year goes but I don't think they'll wait very long to do something (call up Dobes lol) if he continues to underperform like he did last night.

in a way it's probably gonna be hard for them to replicate what they did last year, as they caused a surprise by being in the playoff mix for most of the season.
