Even though the roster seems to have some balance, I think they miss the playoffs because of the usual indifference to keeping the puck out of their own net. Mediocre goal tending and poor defense will kill them again.

I'd like our chances a little better if Sullivan gave the old guys the occasional game off.

Don’t think the defense is really playing bad. They seem quiet (in a good way) and the forwards are functionally back checking for solid team D right now. The problem to me seems to be Jarry

But like in the salary cap era, what star center has had a better linemate? McDavid has had Drai on and off. Bergeron had Marchand. Stammer never really played with Kuch. Prime Toews didn’t really play with Kane. I’m struggling to come up with many examples.
